BAKU, May 26 - Sputnik. Popular Azerbaijani performer Masuma Mammadova, who is better known in the local show business under the pseudonym Damla, does not consider anyone a rival: "Because show business is not a place for a fight, but a stage where everyone has to show their voice and nothing else."

Damla stated this at a press conference held in the multimedia press center. The singer noted that the reason for meeting with journalists is that she practically does not find time to personally meet with each of them, so she decided to answer all the questions at once. According to her, the lack of time is due to the fact that she performs at various celebrations every day, many of which take place in the regions of the country.

"They tell me that my songs are mostly listened to by the 'hillbilly'" simple people working in our neighborhoods, but I don't care. On the contrary, I am proud of it because I earn the most, and if other performers perform once or twice a month at weddings, then I do it almost every day,” Mammadova said.

She noted that the "elite" also invites her to their celebrations, but no one talks about it. According to her, she takes not such a big fee for her performances at weddings, and even sometimes gives discounts to the hosts when she sees that they do not have money. But she still refused to disclose the size of her fees.

The singer noted that she takes the choice of a song very responsibly and seriously, and above all puts herself in the place of the listener. If the composition affects her, then she performs it.

According to Mammadova, only the voice is important for any performer, and not the parameters of the figure, as many believe. The singer noted that she also often receives offers to perform in Russia, so she has to fly there three times a week. However, frequent flights led to the fact that a certain limit was exceeded, therefore, according to Mammadova, she was banned from entering Russia for three years.

“Thank God that we managed to solve this problem, because we didn’t want to cancel the invitations to the weddings of our compatriots living in different cities of Russia. This ban has already been lifted,” Mammadova said.

The singer also said that the other day she returned from Turkey, where she took off her new clip, its presentation will take place this summer. In addition, Damla is preparing for her first solo concert, which will be held in October at the Heydar Aliyev Palace.

Regarding her personal life, Mamedova admitted that there is always love in her life, because without it she could not perform her songs with her soul. She also noted that if someone offers her a hand and heart in the future, she will agree to remarry if she loves this person.
