Invasion - the main adventure of the summer - this is the slogan of the most promoted and famous rock festival. With a high degree of probability, it can be argued that for many it was so.

I want to make a reservation right away that I am not a big fan of rock music and for the most part I am indifferent to it, with a few exceptions. Before proceeding to the story of the festival, I want to express my gratitude to "Our Radio", for organizing a trip to the Invasion from Tula. Same way say thank you Masha, who persuaded me to go for three days with a Tula group to this festival. The reason for my reluctance to go was the number of days the festival took place during three days July 4, 5, 6 in Bolshoy Zavidovo, Tver region, and as a not a big fan of rock music, it was hard for me to imagine that I would do more than one day there. This year the festival gathered about 160 thousand spectators, before whom 4 thousand musicians performed, among which were Alisa, Leningrad, DDT, Bi-2, Lyapis Trubetskoy, Night Snipers, Kipelov and other. There were several stages on the territory of the festival where performers performed. Stars of the first magnitude performed on the main stage, lesser-known musicians performed on the secondary ones, but by no means can it be said that sadness and despondency reigned on the smaller stages. People came off there no less, and at times perhaps more.

How I Spent This Invasion

Our group from Tula set off at about ten in the evening and arrived at the place at about three in the morning, so we had to set up tents in the twilight by dawn, we had already settled in a new place.

The new place is a tent city, in which there are a huge number of tents, as a result of which it can be very problematic to find your tent at night. Every night I had to look for my tent for 20-30 minutes. One night I had to look for her with two girls who were just as lost as I was. Their tent was found first, and they kindly offered me to stay overnight with them, as it would be difficult for me to find my tent. As an honest guy, I said that I would look for about five minutes and if I didn’t find it, I would return to them, after five minutes I found my tent, and in the morning I felt like the hero of the movie “Dumb and Dumber”.

Prices and life on the Invasion

After we settled down and had a little rest, we decided to go explore the surroundings, or rather, what and where is located on the territory of the festival. The territory of the festival is a fenced area along the perimeter of which there is a guard. In principle, the territory has everything for life and entertainment. At the same time, life at the festival cannot be called cheap.
Half a liter of boiling water costs 50 rubles, a 150 gram glass of tea also costs 50 rubles.

But it is good that the so-called sale of social water was organized, that is, 5 liter bottles of water for 150 rubles were sold from trucks.

From food as an example, a plate of pilaf is 250 rubles.
By evening, for drunken people, the price of food in many cases increased dramatically. For 1000 rubles, we bought 4 chicken wings, two sausages and chopped half a tomato and half a cucumber. In fact, the seller saw drunk funny guys and decided to deceive them.
How much money to take for the Invasion is a rhetorical question, someone spent 8 thousand rubles, someone 11. Masha kept within three and a half thousand, since she drank very little. Basically most of money is spent on beer, you are constantly on the air, all the time on the move and sing songs, and in order to get more or less drunk in this mode, you need to drink a lot of beer. For me, a big minus was the lack of strong alcohol in the sale, since I am not a beer lover. But some people still manage to get through it. On the very first evening, we were treated to whiskey by a very pleasant couple from Klin, Tanya and Artem. And every subsequent evening we came across kind people managed to carry strong alcohol and treated us. On the one hand, the lack of strong alcohol on sale is a minus, but on the other hand, it is difficult to imagine what would happen at such an event if it were sold. Due to those people who were able to carry it, it still circulated to festivals, but within acceptable limits.
Not a pleasant surprise may be the morning when, after drinking a fair amount of beer, you go to the toilets located near the tent camp and see a queue in which you have to stand for about twenty minutes. In such cases, we went to other toilets located 500 meters from the tents.
Some come to the festival in cars in which they spend the night. I met quite a few hitchhikers, even from Omsk and Vladivostok, who, having put it simply, will ask for beer, well, how to refuse such travelers.

Dancing Music Booze and Airplanes

After visiting the "sights" we decided to go to a concert that was on a secondary stage. Once again I repeat that I am indifferent to rock music in most cases, but when you are close to the stage and among people who light you up with their energy, it really puts you in!

In fact, we spent the entire first day at concerts. In the morning on the small stage, and in the evening we went to the main stage, where we met the guys from Klin and met many more good people. Now I will write a subjective thing, in my opinion, in order to completely immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the festival and be on the same wavelength with others, you need to drink, at least beer)!

After sleeping a few hours a night in the morning, playing a few games of cards with my friends, we again went to the concert. Maneuvering between tents in a tent city, you have to be careful not to hurt someone, some sleep right on the street in sleeping bags.

The concert on the small stage this time was notable, among other things, for the fact that the Tula group "Zhamki" performed there, which was very warmly received by the public.

Before the evening concert, we visited an exhibition of military equipment, as well as a survival course, where the paratroopers showed how to set traps for animals, build a tent, quickly make a fire, etc. boil a pot of water on it. There were three participants, two guys and a girl. The girl who stole firewood from a neighbor won. In general, it was interesting.

Toward evening again a concert on the main stage, again meetings with old friends and new acquaintances. The concert on the second day was also notable for the fact that during the break between the performances of the groups, the aerobatic team “Falcons of Russia” demonstrated their skills. In fact, it's really impressive when the planes roar over you at low altitude and perform various tricks.

After the performance of the pilots, paratroopers made a landing from a helicopter and landed right among the people.

In the interval between the morning and evening concerts, we came across such a stall.

The creation of the festival is proof that the appearance of the new station contributed to the popularization of Russian rock in the country. However, the status of the largest rock festival in the country "Invasion" didn't get it right away.

So the duration is: December 1999 scene: Palace of Culture named after Gorbunov, popularly "Gorbushka".

"Our radio" prepared to celebrate the start of broadcasting. And the station management was well aware that the radio should have its own festival. Hence, it was decided to combine the celebration of the anniversary with the start "Invasions". Since it was winter, Gorbushka was chosen as the site of the festival.

Let's rewind the tape from this moment to a few months ago. The song "AIDS" by an unknown singer from Ufa was on "Our Radio". Almost immediately, the composition sounded on the air, and the group, named after the soloist, gained shocking popularity in record time. And now let's go back to December, more precisely, on the 11th, and go up to the stage of the Gorbunov Palace of Culture. It seems that we are standing next to a girl in sunglasses, and thousands of eyes are looking at us, and thousands of voices are singing along. Zemfira Ramazanova- she became the headliner of the second day "Invasions". Days earlier, an alien Linda.

In addition to young ladies, "Invasion - 1999" groups "Semantic hallucinations", "Ocean Elzy"... All these bands were then still considered newcomers to the domestic rock scene, which did not in the least prevent the event from collecting full houses in, unfortunately, non-rubber "Gorbushka".

INVASION - 2000

The winter festival in Gorbushka clearly indicated that "Invasion" not a place within four walls (one name is worth something!). Therefore, in 2000, a decision was made to hold the event, firstly, in the summer, and secondly, in an open area. This site was the hippodrome in Ramenskoye near Moscow. So the duration is: August 19-20, 2000.

INVASION - 2004

When in the spring of 2004 there were reports that the festival "Invasion" was gaining a new place of residence - the village of Emmaus near Tver - it became clear that the team that had been making the festival for five years and finally came to the silent but firm resistance of the Moscow Region authorities, challenges again. Everyone, including themselves, by switching to a completely autonomous mode.

On the one hand, "Invasion" became an event of federal significance in the full sense of the word. It was a very strong decision in the context of the world festival practice - all the largest music festivals, from Woodstock to Redding with Leeds and Glastonbury, are held not under the side of the capitals, but in the countryside, in other words - in the field. A big music festival is a priori a pioneer camp for adults, and all accusations of a lack of comfort should have been dismissed immediately, because these are the rules of the game.

Now about a specific geographical point - Emmaus. Not only is this locality at the same distance from Moscow as from Jerusalem was the biblical Emmaus - the place where, according to the Gospel of Luke, the resurrected Jesus was met by his disciples. In addition to its connection with ancient times, the village has played a significant role in modern history. It was here, on the banks of the Volga, in fact, in the same place where the stage and the tent city unfolded, in October 1941, during the battle for Moscow, the most fierce battles of the Kalinin Front took place. At the entrance to the festival field there is a battle museum. So not all locals immediately accepted with a bang the decision of the Tver governor to provide land to the organizers of the rock festival.

Nevertheless, in July 2004, the development of the territory began, in early August they brought in a sound apparatus and began to assemble the stage, built fences and assembled retail stalls, installed mini bungees and leveled the site for the football championship. And on August 6, between 12:00 and 23:00, eight thousand people settled in a tent city, which immediately refuted all the forecasts - both ill-wishers, and even the organizers themselves, who were counting on a much smaller number of guests. Right in the middle of the stage, a backdrop with the Invasion logo was stretched out - torn red letters on a black background, a graphic message that directly states that a two-day rock rebellion that no one controls is planned here. Later, the sky itself sided with the organizers, not only scattering everything on the table of Emmaus, but also emphasizing the anarchic spirit of the Invasion. It was only worth waiting for the morning.

So, on August 7 and 8, "Invasion - 2004" gathered about 50,000 spectators in Emmaus. The tent city on the festival territory consisted of about 10,000 "houses". On the night of August 7-8, for 30,000 spectators who stayed overnight in this town, the film "Night Watch" was shown on large screens.

INVASION - 2008

The festival "Invasion" was held on July 4, 5, 6, 2008 in the village of Emmaus, Tver region.
The largest open-air in the country went to federal all-Russian level.

The geography of guests and participants of the festival in 2008 is represented not only by guests from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tver. Organized groups spectators in the bus tours arrived at the festival from 46 regions of Russia and from neighboring Belarus.

Media representatives from 79 regions of the country are accredited to work at the festival.
According to statistics, the official website of the festival is visited by guests from 69 regions of Russia.

Precipitation for three days somewhat complicated the work of the festival organizers, but did not affect positive attitude public. Concert program festival has been held since great success. The audience of all three stages warmly received all the performances.

On three stages of the festival- Main, Alternative and Positive - in three days 120 musical groups performed from young talents from all over the country - winners of the competitive selection - to superstars. A variety of musical genres were represented.

"Alternative" and "Positive" scenes provided numerous musical groups playing popular youth music formats: reggae, ska, alternative, folk, punk, hard-n-heavy. The festival continued to develop towards multi-format, successfully received by the audience. Also in the program were presented three independent blocks with different musical trends (not by genre) - "Tver block", "Hero of Our Time" and "Young Names"(mainstream).

Night program of the festival: night film screening- the premiere of a documentary film about the legendary British rock band The Rolling Stones. Let there be light" Martin Scorsese - one of the greatest directors of our time and huge rave in the open air with the participation of top domestic DJs - DJ Lantern and DJ Pasha Koreets, accompanied by a large-scale laser show.

Much attention at the festival was traditionally given to sports. 62 football and 31 volleyball teams have been registered to participate in beach soccer and volleyball tournaments. All sports equipment and playground equipment were provided by the organizers, the competitions were serviced by professional referees.

10, 11, 12 July in the Tver region took place the next festival in the open air "Invasion".

The largest Russian festival was held in the Tver region at a new location:

The festival was attended by 98,000 spectators in three days. The new territory of the "Invasion" is three times larger than the previous one and was able to freely accept everyone.
One of major achievements"Invasion" was the full readiness of the festival for any weather conditions. For the first time, the field has a stationary drainage system for the removal of surface water, which makes it possible to regulate soil moisture exchange. Precipitation on the first day of the festival did not really cause any big problems on the glade, water did not accumulate on the surface and did not create flooding. Perennial grass turf and a flat surface remained a comfortable platform for tents and a good rest.
