Gulliver Park

Area: approximately 0.5 ha

Children's park in Valencia, built based on an episode from the first part famous book Jonathan Swift, is a figure of the ship's doctor Lemuel Gulliver thrown ashore, lying on the ground and entangled in ropes. The giant's body is divided into slides, steps, ropes, ladders, swings, hills and caves. Area - a joint project architect Rafael Riviera, artist Manolo Martin and designer Sento. Swift's ship's surgeon here bears little resemblance to illustrations from familiar books or actors who played him in films familiar to us, but, thanks to his rough facial features, rather, something akin to a figure of a man from a Lego constructor.

Not only a child, but also an adult can feel like a midget next to the gigantic figure of Gulliver - a character, according to the book, of quite human growth.

Princess Diana Memorial Playground

Fruit and berry playground

Location: Stockholm, Sweden
Area: less than 0.1 ha
Number of fruits on the site: 13

In the southern part of Stockholm there is one of the most unusual playgrounds - fruit and berry. A banana slide, a cherry swing, a melon, an orange and a watermelon, a counting strawberry - these are just some of the unusual structures that are part of the park.
Despite the very compact size of the site, a secret is reserved for little lovers of secrets - a path hidden in the bushes that leads to a secret tree that you can and should climb.
The appearance of the site was preceded by studies conducted in Sweden over the past fifteen years, which indicate an increased percentage of obesity among children at the age of seven (from 8.5% to 21%). Thus, in addition to recreational, the site also performs social function, focusing the attention of children on fruits and berries as healthy and healthy food.

Location: Fairfax City, Virginia, USA

CLEMYJONTRI park is a unique playground where children, including those with disabilities, can play with each other without restrictions. The park was founded thanks to local resident Adele Lebovits, who donated more than 7 hectares of property to the municipality.

The name CLEMYJONTRI comes from the names of the four children of the Lebowitz family: Carolina (CL), Emily (EMY), John (JON) and Petrina (TRI).

Playground Kilda

Location: Adelaide, Australia
Year of creation: 1982
Territory area: 4 hectares

The name of the playground comes from an Australian place name, which in turn comes from a Scottish place name. And the name of the Scottish toponym does not at all come from the name of St. Kilda (such a saint never existed), but is either a distorted second name of the Hirta archipelago, which, in turn, comes from the Irish word Ier (west), or comes from the words "Skildir" ("shields" in Old Norse). In a word, even the name of this site is very complex and confusing.

She herself has the same property: in the motley variety of site structures there is a wooden castle, a small labyrinth, a submarine nicknamed “Yellow Submarine”, but the largest attraction of the park is the coast with the wreckage of a pirate ship that crashed. All of the above objects were added to the ensemble of the children's park relatively recently - during the last reconstruction in 2007.

The St.Kilda Playground is federally funded, equipped with slides, trampolines, cozy places in natural area. The playground is intended for children of 5-12 years of age, and allows the young guests of the playground who come here to play together, regardless of different backgrounds and material circumstances for each. Here, playing children can develop their imagination, run, jump, play with animals (turtles and chickens live on the territory of the playground), and they can simply afford to be children.

Jacob Ballas Children's Botanical Garden

Location: Singapore
Area: approximately 1.5 ha
Project cost: about 6 million US dollars

The Jacob Ballas Botanical Garden is designed as a unique and interactive garden that cultivates a love of nature and environment in children and youth. While playing in this garden, children can discover that the plants, which are not often seen in the city-state of Singapore, are not only beautiful, but also very useful, and also indispensable, as they satisfy their daily needs. “All life on Earth depends on plants” is the motto of this garden. Walking along it contributes to the development of the child not only curiosity and imagination, but also a sense of gratitude to the world of wildlife.

With the help of interactive displays placed in the park, young children can learn about the fundamental processes that take place on the planet with the participation of vegetation. For example, here you can find out what photosynthesis is and why it is crucial for the existence of life on earth. At the service of little lovers of water entertainment - aqua playground.
There is also the Fantastic Forest, an adventure forest where children learn about rainforests, the Tree House with slides and a rope bridge, and the Frangipani Tunnel, where children can learn about nutrient cycling. There is also a not entirely man-made attraction here: children can play hide and seek around the giant trunk of a 100-year-old Pometia Pinnata tree, the name of which we could not translate into Russian for the reason that it does not even have a Russian name - after all, Singapore is from us far.

Tire playground

Location: Tokyo, Japan
Year of establishment: 2009
Area: 0.4 ha
Number of tires used: more than 3000

The unusual playground Nishi Rokugo Koen is located in Tokyo, and almost all the functional structures in it are made from waste tires of the different size. The site is completely covered with sand, and abundant tires can be found here in the most unexpected and bizarre combinations: either in the form of a dinosaur molded from tires, standing up on its hind legs and growling at something in the sky, or in the form, for example, made of the same tires hills or bridges. There is also a swing made of tires, tunnels made of tires, treadmills made of tires, a climbing wall made of tires, and finally, some incomprehensible monsters - also made of tires. In addition to all this, there are plenty of just tires lying freely around - in case you want to play with the help of a game that you invented right on the spot.

The site owes its abundance of tires to its proximity to the Kawasaki aircraft factory, named after the city, which is now part of Tokyo. In addition to a comfortable place for children to spend their leisure time, this playground also performs another function - a reminder to parents about the need for careful handling of everyday household waste.

Jamie Bell Playground

Location: Toronto, Canada
Year of creation: 1998
Area: 0.2 ha
Amount of donations for restoration after the fire: $300,000

The site consists of palaces and castles built of wood. In each of these castles you will find slides, tunnels, passages and manholes for little lovers of fairy tales and adventures. The design of the towers favors the peace of mind of the parents - it is quite easy to observe the children playing due to the location of the openings and windows. The site got its name not at all in honor of the young English actor Jamie Bell, who played in the films "Billy Elliot" or "The Adventures of Tintin", but in honor of the volunteer who came up with the theme of the site. Medieval-style palaces and castles immerse your children in Magic world fairy tales and adventures. Any girl playing here can feel like a princess, and a boy can feel like a noble knight. Everything is so saturated with the theme of the Middle Ages that even a tire that serves as a seat in a rope swing seems to fit into the landscape.

Last spring, the site burned down, and it was not the fairy-tale dragon that was to blame, but an unknown arsonist. But already in July 2012, by the efforts and means of volunteers - ordinary citizens and their children, the site was completely restored. The central castle, which has risen from the ashes, is slightly lower than the old one (for legal reasons, the volunteers could not quickly obtain permission to build the castle of its former height), but it is somewhat larger in area.

St. Louis City Museum

Location: St. Louis, USA
Year of foundation: 1997
Diameter of forged pipes leading to aircraft: about 120 centimeters
Visitors per year: over 600,000

At first glance, it becomes clear that this is not an ordinary city museum. If you ask local residents What to see in St. Louis, every second, if not every first, will tell you the city museum. Inside the former shoe factory building, slides are equipped along a spiral staircase, and if you are not too lazy to walk all 10 floors, then you can ride the entire length. In addition, inside the museum you can find other attributes of the playground: pits with balls, large wheels, inside which you can feel like a squirrel or a hamster. Somewhere here, within the walls of the indoor areas, is the world's largest pencil, listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Wandering around the second floor, you can also find an impressive aquarium with sharks and rays. A low, but wide enough tunnel passes through the aquarium, through which you can only crawl.

On the third floor, you will find a toy railway with a train, on which children can move around the entire floor. Nearby is a school of circus skills, where you can learn to juggle and show tricks.

However, the most interesting awaits us behind an inconspicuous door on the fourth floor. It doesn’t go into the next room, but directly onto the street, where through wrought iron tunnels, over planted trees and past monsters hovering in the sky, you or your children can crawl to two real North American F-86F-40-aircraft hovering above the ground. NA Sabre. This is an external site called "MonstroCity". Design solutions at this site are overturning habitual ideas about space: for example, a yellow school bus is on the roof of one of the wings of the museum and it seems that it is about to fall off from there.

Despite the apparent instability, the design is absolutely safe and meets all the requirements and standards for any playground in Missouri. However, for children with a fear of heights or children with nervous parents, this site, perhaps, is still contraindicated.

culture

In all countries of the world, architects are trying to present children with playgrounds where the kids could turn on their imagination and with joy learn something new for myself.

Today, there are sites that float on the water or have giant animal shapes.
