- How often do you come to Mariupol?
My father lives here, probably the most important relative. I have many friends and acquaintances in Mariupol, but I grew up here. Twice a year my concerts are held in Mariupol, in the worst case I come to the city once a year, but I try to do it as often as possible. I like to relax on the Sea of Azov, so I came this summer.
How do you feel when you sing hometown?
Each of my performances in any country causes a storm of emotions, as this is my work. And in my hometown, of course, it is always more pleasant for me to perform. It is emotionally warm here, there are many familiar faces. Mariupol is my homeland, my native land.
- Today you sang "Do not exchange yourself for trifles." This new song- a gift for Mariupol residents?
Today was the premiere of a song that has not yet been heard anywhere, I recorded it this summer. It will be included in my sixth album. The song is narrative, with very good lyrics. I hope Mariupol liked it.
- Who writes the lyrics for your songs?
Various poets, but the main one is Vadim Tsyganov, husband famous wife We wrote a lot of songs with him. I collaborate with Mikhail Tanich, who wrote songs for Yuri Antonov, Larisa Dolina, he also has his own group "Lesopoval".
I'm getting ready to release new album, it will already include famous compositions written earlier. It remains to write three songs, and the album will see the light of day. However, I don't know when that will be, because right now I have a tight tour schedule I hope the event will take place soon.
- What songs contain words about Mariupol?
There is a song about the sea, where memories of Mariupol sound. There is also the song "Golden Maples" - a song about my youth, and maples really grow in the yard where I am used to live. This song is my father's favorite.
- Your father is probably your main admirer?
Quicker, chief critic. When I have the opportunity, I show my father new songs. When I doubt whether or not to release a song, I ask my father: if he likes it, then I release it, if not, then I sell it. He is my chief judge.
- Do you have enough time for your personal life?
My wife Victoria came with me today, who accompanies me at all concerts. And we met in Mariupol fifteen years ago. She is a native Mariupol resident. And we've been together for the last five years. Everything is interconnected: personal life, creativity, hometown.
