Just think about the development of the plot, they start to shove the stories of the team members in turn (we go through quests in RPG) and stupidly increase the lvl, and get new skills (2nd gear, will, new sticks, boots). And instead of development, just new dungeons (Enies Lobi, Sabaody, Thriller Bark). And of course, when he heard 2.5 years after that battle that, then already the king of the pirates, Gol D. Roger was captured, he did not believe it at first, and then the evil sailed to Marineford - the Headquarters of the Fleet. And there, a battle took place between Shiki, Sengoku and Garp, as a result of which half of Marineford was destroyed, but despite this, Shiki was captured and imprisoned in Impel Down. 2 years after the execution of Roger (that is, about 2.5 years after he was caught), the "Golden Lion" Shiki destroys at the cost of his legs (more precisely, stops) the legend that no one can escape from there. After which he meets with White Beard. And then he begins to hatch a plan for revenge on the world, which, according to calculations, will happen in 20 years. Well, almost 20 years have flown by. A mediocre media franchise out of control.

So, after watching an impressive number of episodes of this creation, namely 143 episodes (as many as 2 cycles, I no longer mastered, excuse me, my brain is not used to degrading for so long), I think that this is more than enough to fully and in all its glory appreciate this product.

Why did such a mediocre creation become such a popular media franchise and, perhaps, even a cult series ... Probably because the authors played on the feelings of people who sympathize with piracy and everything connected with it. To be honest, myself this topic I like it, that's why I started watching this anime, and I was also wildly interested in the fact that it is still being filmed, it has already exceeded 800 episodes. No anime series known to me has gained such success.

What happened in the end: the authors of this “masterpiece” slipped a dummy to sophisticated viewers, which, oddly enough, went with a bang. Where to begin to describe this product. Probably, it is worth starting with the most important thing: what meaning does it carry in itself. You are probably now thinking, well, it's like children's work, what meaning should it carry ... You will be wrong, even the most childish and naive fairy tale should contain something instructive. What can not be said about One Piece. Of the 143 episodes, only 20 are a little meaningful, mostly those episodes that refer to the past of the characters. In the real action of the series, nothing else is happening, just an impossibly long cliché about pirates. By the way, the protractedness is perhaps one of the most serious problems of the series. What normal anime shows in 25 episodes (standard season) is stretched here for 100 episodes, most of the screen time is spent on absolutely stupid mediocre dialogues between characters, and there is no action. Here, even without me, “someone” smart said that “brevity is the sister of talent”, which proves the mediocrity of this wildly drawn-out work. Think several times before you start watching it, because if you are not prone to degradation and decomposition of the brain, then it will be simply unbearable for you to watch the same unchanging picture for long, long series.

As far as the characters go, it's pretty bad. Of all the major and secondary characters perhaps only one deserves attention: Zoro. He has a really interesting and instructive fate, as well as a worthy dream and aspiration. Character in comparison with all other characters is more or less adequate, although ruthless authors sometimes try to expose him complete idiot. I singled out only him, because all other characters are equally scary people(and not just humans). In addition to the complete senselessness of their actions, in most cases they are also distinguished by bad character traits, for example, no matter how sugary and friendly their behavior may seem, they still remain vile egoists deep down, ready to deceive or leave friends for money (as in in Nami's case), for girls (as in Sanji's case), or just for fun (as in Usopp's case). There's a lot to be said for the main character in the film. But I will only say the most important thing: he is very stupid, his actions in each series are unjustified and incredibly stupid, he never gives an account of what he is doing, and always creates only problems for his team. Is this how the captain of the ship should look like, is this how the leader should look and, at least, main character pictures that should serve as an example to all viewers? He dreams of becoming the king of the pirates, but most of the time his goal is only to fill his belly more, his only power is the power of the devil fruit, and nothing else. He wins all his victories only by brute force, without applying a drop of intellect, which he, in fact, does not have.

If we evaluate the technical side of the product, then everything here is also far from perfect, and in general it does not even reach the average level. The drawing here is just terrible, the authors tried only a little for the main characters. As for the rest of the characters, everything is generally bad here, one is worse than the other. Even in the most scary tales and horror films, you will not find such ugly characters, which are lacking in this anime. More often than not, it's just a mockery of the eyes. And what costumes did the authors come up with for some of the characters. Fashion designers clearly should learn from them (no).

In many anime that I've watched before, I was very attracted to the music. There are a lot talented performers who write amazing music for TV shows. Here, unfortunately, there are no such performers. Music does not catch on, even at crucial moments it does not cause any emotions. Those few compositions written for One Piece will sound from series to series and as a result will be very annoying.

Another point that I would like to highlight is the complete lack of attention to detail. Let me give you an example: in storyline about Chopper, the emphasis is on the fact that all people are afraid of him, consider him a monster and in every possible way move away from him, which creates the effect of the viewer's sympathy for this character or just a certain attitude. What happens after this storyline, the authors simply forget about this detail, but now Chopper is an ordinary member of the pirate team, nothing more. No one else will point out the fact that he is a monster, no one will be surprised at the sight of him, because this detail is simply forgotten. And this is just a single example, of which there are many in the series.

Anime is so unrealistic that even any fairy tale can envy it. For example, no matter how strong the enemy is, no matter what abilities or superiority he possesses, the main characters will still defeat him. Despite incredible wounds even for a fairy tale, not one even a little positive character will never die, do not even hope. Let it explode next to him nuclear bomb with a damage radius of 5 km (this happened here), he will still survive. After a couple of dozen episodes, this already becomes somehow a priori, and, as a result, it is not interesting to watch further anime, not to mention the lack of some kind of empathy for the characters or a sense of anxiety.

The result is this: the picture is absolutely devoid of any artistic value, it does not only have meaning or some kind of philosophy, but on the contrary: some absurdly meaningless moments give the impression that the authors are deliberately trying to convey to the viewer some obviously wrong view for life. This, above all, concerns young viewers, who by their nature tend to absorb a lot of information. At the beginning of each episode, it is worth displaying the inscription “this series is not recommended to anyone”, as they do in South Park.
