Drawing of a cartoon wolf. How to draw a wolf for a child with a pencil step by step

Good afternoon! Let's try to draw a traditional inhabitant of deep forests - a wolf. We tried to make it not cartoony, but close to reality. That is, of course, we didn’t draw all the wool and didn’t really work with chiaroscuro. But we tried to make it formidable and harsh. We hope that we succeeded, and we also hope that you succeed too. So, let's start the lesson on how to draw a wolf.

Step 1

Let's first outline the contours of the body of our wolf. First draw the circles that form the head (one circle) and torso (two circles, the front one is larger). Then connect the head with the first ball of the body, and the first ball of the body with the second with the usual smooth line. From the second ball of the body, draw a broken line - the tail. Then outline the limbs. At the end of the step, draw a cone on the head ball, as in our sample.

Step 2

Now there will be quite a lot of work, but in the next steps everything will be easier. Now let's start with the head. With a longitudinal line, mark the muzzle into two halves (as you can see, it is shifted to the left). Let's outline a pair of ears with borders on one side.

Then connect the ball of the head with the first (and largest) ball of the body. The connection is represented by two lines, it forms a large and powerful neck.

After that, you should connect the large and small balls of the body together. The resulting figure should taper slightly backwards.

The final step is working with paws. The forelegs and hind legs differ in shape - naturally, you saw this strong bend on the hind legs, despite the fact that the forelegs are straight. But, despite this, the front and hind legs have one very similar feature - they taper equally smoothly downwards in their lower part.

Step 3

Well, that's all, went very short steps. Let's draw small, menacing eyes. They are fairly close set (focus on the vertical line of the muzzle). Also note that the eyes are angled, giving them a frowning and aggressive look.

Step 4

Now let's outline the muzzle with jagged contours, as in our drawing. Draw the neck with the same contours. Important point- the neck should not be outlined strictly along the line from the second step, but a little more voluminously.

Step 5

Let's repeat the same step, only now it will not be the neck, but the front part of the body and the front paws. The serrated contours here will be visible on the belly, slightly on the nape, and also at the base of the paw. Yes, well, and about the claws, of course, do not forget.

Step 6

As you probably already guessed, we are next in line for the back of the body, hind legs and tail. We edging in the same way, selectively applying jagged contours. Here you can see them on the tail, and mainly on the top of the paws.

Can you draw a wolf? Not? But your child asks you about it, and you don’t want to lose face in front of him at all? Or, perhaps, you were instructed to make something similar for a matinee in kindergarten, but you have no idea how to draw a wolf? But you never know what other reasons why you wanted to depict this dangerous forest animal on a piece of paper!

Well, do not rush to get upset. This master class will teach even the most "lost" artist, and the question of how to draw a wolf will no longer lead you into bewilderment and stupor.

So, you will need:

  • blank sheet of paper;
  • quality eraser;
  • the main tool for creativity is a pencil, it should preferably be soft or medium hard;
  • positive attitude and self-confidence.

Have you prepared everything? So, it's time to show in detail how to draw a wolf with a pencil in stages.

First stage. We designate the body of a forest predator

Draw an elongated bean-like oval, the left side of which will be slightly larger than the right. Make sure you are using regular pencil for a blueprint. This is important because you will later need to erase some details to make the drawing neat.

Look at your original creation. Agree, now the task of how to draw a wolf with a pencil does not seem so difficult to you. Even a schoolboy can handle it. Take a deep breath, continue.

Second phase. Adding Joints and Head to the Animal Sketch

Imagine this predator, or even better, find its corresponding photo, print it out and put it in front of you. In this tutorial, we will assume that the head of a dangerous animal is on the left, and the wolf is standing sideways on all four legs.

Add sketches of the head and joints in the form of the simplest circles. First draw a circle at the left end on top of the original oval. He will become the head of a wolf in the future. For the back joints, draw two intersecting ovals (almost circles). The one to the left should be smaller, as in the future it will be the back of the leg, which is not visible. Under the muzzle, in the chest area, you need to add a slightly elongated circle for the front legs.

From the side it seems that it turned out to be a children's kalyaka-malyaka. But you will soon see for yourself: with the help of simple steps such, it would seem difficult task(how to draw a wolf) for a person far from visual arts becomes clear and simple.

Third stage. Adding the Neck and Ears to the Predator

With the help of this master class, you yourself can proudly show your child how to draw a wolf in stages.

And now it's time to start creating the neck and ears of the predator. Draw two sharp corners on the top of the head. The wolf is not very big ears, unlike, for example, a fox, so do not overdo it.

To create the neck (or more properly called the scruff of the neck), simply draw two slightly curved lines connecting the head to the torso.

Fourth stage. Add a muzzle, eyes and paws

In this part of the master class, you will learn how to draw a wolf face.

To do this, on the head in the lower part, approximately in the middle, add a line similar to the letter U. For the eyes, simply draw two small drop-shaped slanted ovals of a small size.

And now add two hind legs. We start by drawing curved lines from the joints. They should be bent outward towards the tail of the wolf. From below, immediately add small stops.

For the front paws, the lines should be almost straight, like an L in a mirror image. The front leg of our predator is fully visible. And the second paw (the one in the background) is hidden, and only a small part of it will be visible.

Fifth stage. Adding a Tail and Nose to the Animal

On the this stage master class, you will learn how to draw a tail for a predator. Let's make it almost invisible, hiding behind its hind legs. To do this, draw a convex line from the most distant part of the body to the leg.

On the face of the wolf, at the bottom of the previously drawn U-shaped muzzle, draw a circle in the middle. This will be the predator's nose.

Congratulations! The main details of the drawing are ready! And now, to give the wolf naturalness and liveliness, outline the head, torso, ears and tail of the animal with zigzag lines.

Sixth stage. Erase extra lines and add details

At this stage, it is necessary to erase the already unnecessary pencil sketches of the animal's joints. Now you can add details such as the lower jaw and claws.

To draw the fur of a predator, add a few additional zigzag lines on the body, especially in the nape area. Also on the feet of the wolf it is necessary to mark the fingers.

Look at your work! Now the question of how to draw a wolf does not seem so difficult to you? Truth? Not having art education, you were able to do it, and now a beautiful forest animal is looking at you from a sheet of paper!

Seventh stage. Coloring the Predator

So you learned with the help of this article about how to draw a wolf with a pencil in stages. Everything is ready, now you need to give the animal color.

Depending on the breed and habitat, wolves can be completely different shades: gray, brown, beige or even white. Color can be added with pencils or paints. For simple option watercolor is best. With its help, it is much easier to blur the lines in the right places, decorating somewhere darker or lighter than the main tone.

Now you own the easiest and the right way and know how to draw a wolf. Step by step, from the smallest parts to the largest, from simple to complex details, you created a sketch of a forest predator. And now you yourself are surprised at how beautiful your beast turned out to be!

Now we will look at how to draw a wolf with a pencil step by step, how to draw wolf hair step by step for beginners, in great detail and in great detail. Option 1 is easy, option 2 is hard.

First, we will draw a simple version of the muzzle of the wolf. At first we draw a part of a nose, then a forehead, then a mouth, a nose, an eye, a tooth and we paint over a mouth.

For this work, I used A3 paper and simple pencils with a hardness of 2T, TM, 2M, 5M.

I used this photo as a reference. The author of the photo is LoneWolfPhotography.

First of all, I make a detailed sketch, outlining all the boundaries of different tones. First, with barely noticeable lines, I outline the general outlines, then, relying on some part of the drawing as the basis for the construction, on which I measure all the quantities (most often it is the nose, since I like to start the sketch from the nose), I complete the entire sketch.

I always start hatching from the eyes. First, TM, I outline the darkest places in the eye - the pupil and eyelids, then I shade them thickly with 4M. I leave the highlight unpainted. Then I draw the iris with harder pencils. I move from the pupil to the edges for a more natural image.

I'm going to wool. I start by lightly marking the direction of the coat with a 2T pencil.

With a TM pencil, I begin to work out the wool with short strokes. I make the strokes near the eye very short.

I take 2M and go through dark places again.

I go to my ear. With a 5M pencil I paint over the darkest areas.

2M I stroke the darkened wool. First I outline with light lines, then I draw short hairs.

I outline the hairs on the ear and paint over the dark tip.

2M stroke the ear. Here it is important not to get confused in the direction and length of the strokes. I draw long strands with long strokes, first separating one and working through only it. I follow the tone.

I outline the contour of the ear with almost dotted strokes. I draw wool with short strokes.

I return to the forehead and work on the forehead with 2M, adding 4M in some places. Then I work on the hair around the other eye, moving away from it. To make the contour look natural, first I outline the extreme hairs with rare long strokes, then I add lines between them and only then I shade the remaining area. Light wool I draw 2T.

2T I outline the length and direction of the hair on the forehead. Quite difficult, because there is a complex change of direction. I constantly check with the reference. TM and 2M I go through again. It turned out too light, but we always have time to darken.

I finish the forehead. I draw the mane with 2T long strokes. It is especially important here not to lay the strokes in parallel, otherwise the wool will easily turn into unsightly stubble.

I'm working on my other ear. The technique is the same - from dark to light.

Now it's the turn of the nose. I stroke it with short, almost dotted arched strokes to show the leather texture. I actively use 2M and 4M. First I go through black and almost black places, leaving lighter ones for later.

I draw the face. Here I use very short strokes. I outline the points - the basis for the mustache. First I go through the lower jaw, because. she is darker.

I'm switching to sideburns. The technique is the same, only the strokes are much longer.

Here I change myself and go through the light mane first. She came out lighter than necessary, but this is easy to fix. I outline the hair under the muzzle.

I stroke a black stripe of wool 2M and 4M.

I'm working on my shoulders. I darken too light places. The work is ready.

Remarks

- Never press hard on the pencil. It is better to go through an extra layer than to immediately darken. Correcting darkened places can sometimes be very problematic.

- Never draw hairs in parallel, it will look unnatural. Even the smoothest animal's hairs will curve and overlap each other. Therefore, draw each individual hair at a small angle to the neighboring one or slightly bend it in an arc.

- Try to use the eraser as little as possible. It leaves behind dirt, which will make new strokes look untidy.

- Never rush. If you feel that you want to finish quickly, it is better to postpone the work, otherwise you can only spoil it.

- If something doesn’t work out for you or starts to annoy you, postpone work. Later, with a fresh look, you will be able to assess the errors and easily correct them.

Let's draw a wolf. Our wolf has its head up - it howls at the moon.

1. Draw general outline wolf

To make it easier for you to draw a wolf, you can divide your future drawing into squares. This markup will help you draw the primary contours correctly.
Let's draw first the contours of the torso and the circle for the head of the wolf. Then add some strokes for the paws of the wolf and move on to the next step.

2. Adding Details to the Wolf Drawing

In this step we will draw the wolf approximate contour his body and tail. But first draw the paws of the wolf. The front paws will be quite easy to draw, but the hind legs are a little more difficult to draw. They are always bent in a wolf and somewhat similar to a cat's.

3. How to draw a wolf head

Since we have already drawn the general outline of the wolf. then you can remove the preliminary markup and start drawing the head of the wolf, but first we outline only the approximate contour of the head of the wolf without detailed drawing. First draw the outlines of the ears. Then draw the outline of the "muzzle". Try to complete this detail as accurately as possible so that your wolf does not look like a fox or a dog.

4. Drawing of the head of a wolf in detail

In any drawing, including an animal, viewers first of all pay attention to the head or face, if it is a drawing of a person. Therefore, it is necessary to draw a wolf in such a way as to convey its predatory expression as accurately as possible, so that instead of a wolf it does not turn out to be a mongrel.
First, remove unnecessary outlines from the drawing of the wolf's head and draw the nose. Now you can draw eyes, add others small parts.
In general, drawing a wolf in stages is not so difficult, and almost at this step the overall drawing of the wolf will be completely finished. You just have to choose, draw it further with a simple pencil or color with paints or colored pencils.

5. How to draw a wolf. Draw wool

If you decide to draw a wolf only with a pencil, then use my scheme for applying shadows.
The hardest thing to draw a wolf is wool. To do this, apply numerous small strokes along the contours with a pencil, as in my drawing. Try not to paint over the skin of the wolf in one color. Shadows give the wolf volume, and besides, in life, the wolf's hair has different shades especially during molting.

6. Drawing a wolf on a tablet

Coloring a drawing of a wolf with colored pencils and even more so with paints is not easy. Not only is it very difficult to find desired color, so the color of the wolf also has different shades. There is a dark stripe on the back. Stripes with a dark tint will occur on the neck and belly of the wolf. The bridge of the nose and forehead of the wolf should also be darker.

To emphasize that this is a wolf, not a dog, you can use a plot in the drawing. For example, draw a wolf surrounded by hunting dogs, or draw a wolf in a forest clearing. Then minor inaccuracies will not be so conspicuous and it will be clear that this is a drawing of a wolf.

Today's lesson will be about how to draw a wolf with a pencil step by step. The wolf is a very proud and graceful animal that will never leave its family members to the mercy of fate. He can be angry, furious, with a crazy look, or vice versa, calm, full of his own dignity and honor. Of course, it may be silly to attribute to an animal human qualities, but in this case, it is perhaps worth evaluating mental capacity these incredible animals of the canine family.

So, the lesson on how to draw a beautiful wolf begins. The result is a proud beast with a full confidence look in a recumbent pose.

Step 1. In drawing with a simple pencil, the main rule is to lightly press the stylus on the paper. This is done so that all errors can be easily erased with an eraser without traces in the picture. So, first of all, you need to draw a circle of the head and throw a sketch of the body and general outline muzzle.

Step 2 The next step is to draw the protruding parts of the muzzle of the wolf, nose and lower jaw.

Step 4 For the next step, you should look at pictures of real wolves in order to get an idea of the location of the eyes of the beast. Then you need to draw the eyes and designate the fur under the eyes.

Step 6 The wavy fur of the neck and further body should be drawn taking into account the fact that the wolf lies.

Step 7 The ears need to be finished, adding fur inside the drawing.

Step 8 The next step will be the front paws. They are in contact with each other. And the elbow joints are marked with fur.

Step 9 Next, the main body of the wolf with the hind leg is drawn. The second paw is under the beast, so it is not visible. The paw, which is visible, is drawn taking into account the fact that the animal lies and the leg is in a bent state.

Step 10 After you need to draw the claws on the paws of the wolf and finish the small hairs on the body.

Step 11 And, of course, the tail. In the wolf, he is magnificent and beautiful. The animal lies, therefore the tail, as if resting nearby.

Step 13 The last step is to erase the mistakes with an eraser.

Now you can decorate the wolf. Although in this case a white wolf was drawn, so it is worth adding color only to the environment.

So, the lesson on how to draw a wolf is completed step by step.

And here is a small video lesson where we draw a wolf in stages. Watch carefully and repeat.
