And some countries even deliberately showed their "Fi" to Russia. The first competition was organized in 2003 following the success of the Scandinavian competition MGP Nordic. Initially, the main Scandinavian broadcasters participated in the organization of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, but then, since 2006, they stopped this participation and returned to the organization of the MGP Nordic contest. Junior Eurovision continued to exist, organized by the country hosting the competition (each year it is chosen in advance).

Contest Rules

  • The rules of the contest are based on the rules of the adult Eurovision, but at the same time have a large number of differences. As in the adult version, the country, as a participant, represents the television broadcaster from that country. The competition takes place in one of the participating countries.
  • The competition is held as follows:
  • Each country participating in the competition different ways selects an artist and a song. Children aged 10 to 15 can take part in the competition (until 2007 - from 8 to 15).
  • Each song from each country is performed once and in a live voice (the voice of the performer cannot be pre-recorded).
  • At the beginning of the first participating song, the audience voting begins. Only viewers of the countries participating in the contest and broadcasting it in live. Viewers vote for the song they like the most. Viewers cannot vote for a song representing their country. Voting ends after two short repetitions of all performances (in the adult competition, voting takes place only within 15 minutes after all performances).
  • In parallel with the voting of the audience, the voting of the professional jury takes place. The final result will consist of the results of voting by the audience and the jury in the ratio of 50×50.
  • All votes are counted and summed up by country (i.e. all the votes of the audience and the jury in Ireland separately, the audience and the jury in France separately, etc.).
  • Each country transmits its results via satellite communications. The best 10 songs of the participating countries according to the results of the general voting of the jury and the audience in each country receive points: 12 points for the first place, 10 points for the second, from 8 to 1 points descending from the third to the tenth.
  • The winner is the country whose song scored the largest number points.

Rule changes 2014

The main difference between the rules of 2014 and previous years is that the condition on the mandatory holding of open national selections was removed from them, and in this regard, many countries switched to internal selections. This year, the organizers have removed the "blind" draw: the order of performance is determined by the producers of the competition. First of all, this is done in order to exclude situations when songs of a similar genre go in a row.

For the first time, the rehearsal of the participants will be held not in the order of the performances, but according to a predetermined schedule. This was done in order to combine rehearsals with field trips and "friendship lessons". In addition to this, the competition returns to the "Top 10" voting system that was used until 2013.

To save time, the heralds will announce only three maximum marks (8, 10 and 12 points), points from 1 to 7 will be displayed on the electronic scoreboard (a similar system operates in the adult competition). For the first time, separate results of voting by TV viewers and the jury will be published.

Song Requirements

  • Songs for Junior Eurovision must be new and not commercially published anywhere.
  • The length of the song must range from 2 minutes 30 seconds to (since 2013) 3 minutes.
  • When creating a song, the maximum participation of the child performer is necessary.
  • A maximum of 6 performers can be on stage.
  • The performer is required to sing "live", the use of a phonogram of the voice is prohibited. It is allowed to use a backing track, that is, an accompaniment recording, as well as the use of recorded back vocals (unlike the adult competition, where the use of recorded back vocals is not allowed).
  • The song must be written in the national language of the performing country (as opposed to the adult contest, where any language can be used). However, there are exceptions.

The twelfth annual Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in a Maltese shipyard in the small town of Marsa.

This is the first Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Malta. In addition, the event for the third time in the history of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was held in the winning country of the contest, Malta, which won in 2013 in Kyiv.

The Maltese national TV channel, PBS, has broadcast the live broadcast of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

On November 9, the opening ceremony and the drawing of lots for the performances of the countries took place at the official summer residence of the President of Malta, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca.

Results of Junior Eurovision-2014

In the final of the competition, which was held in the Maltese city of Marsa, representatives of 16 countries argued for victory - Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Malta, Bulgaria, Armenia, Croatia, Cyprus, Italy, San Marino, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, Sweden, Netherlands.

The Kurchanka at Eurovision 2014 was the favorite of the professional jury after the preliminary voting, but the victory went to another Italian.

Live broadcast of Junior Eurovision 2014 could be seen on Russian TV channels November 15 at 21:00 Moscow time.

The victory at the 12th Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on Saturday in Malta, was won by Vincenzo Cantiello from Italy. According to the results of voting by viewers and professional national juries, he scored 159 points.

The winner, who was the only member of the stronger sex among the participants, performed the song "Tu primo grande amore" ("Your first big love»).

It is worth noting that the victory of the 14-year-old Italian musician looks quite deserved: he has a fair amount of vocal and artistic abilities, and his ballad combines national flavor with a completely European sound.

In total, 16 states were represented in this Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Noteworthy is the absence of such countries as France and Great Britain. Members of the "big five" of the adult competition go directly to the final. However, in the entire history of Junior Eurovision, they participated in the competition young talents a counted number of times. The Slavic part of Europe, on the contrary, is represented quite widely - from Belarus to the countries of the Balkan Peninsula.

Russia at the 2014 contest was represented by Alisa Kozhikina, who performed the song "Dreamer" ("Dreamer"). She scored 96 points and finished fifth.

Alice is 11 years old, she has been involved in music since childhood, and for the past few years she has been participating in various music competitions. In 2012, she won the national selection for the "Children's New Wave",

and in 2013 she participated in the Channel One project “Voice. Children ”, got into the team of Maxim Fadeev and won.

Fadeev wrote the music for her contest entry, and Alisa herself composed the words with the help of a member of the group Serebro Olga Seryabkina.

Junior Eurovision was first held in 2003; he is still far from the excitement that rises around the "adult" competition. The organizers are trying to protect participants from unnecessary shocks: they limit the number of contestants (no more than 18 countries), organize excursions for young musicians, and no one leaves without points. Of course, all the same, someone rejoices, someone is upset, but there are more reasons for joy - there are three prizes here.

The second went to a trio from Bulgaria on Saturday, who performed the song "Planet of Children" (and received 147 points), and the third went to Betty from Armenia, who lost only one point to the Bulgarians.

In the not very long history of Junior Eurovision, young singers from Belarus and Georgia have won twice.

Representatives of Russia took first place in 2006 - they were sisters Masha and Nastya Tolmacheva; this year they represented our country at the adult competition in Denmark and took quite an honorable sixth place.

The competition was held in a former shipyard, specially equipped for its finals, but in general it looked like a paddling pool compared to a large pool. In the sense that everything seems to be the same, but on a smaller scale - both the size of the participants and the scale of the show. It can be seen that the competition is relatively young and is trying to resemble the "big" Eurovision - this is noticeable both in the script of the show itself and in the repertoire presented by the participants, who brought songs written as if written for adults and not quite suitable for novice artists.

And the young representatives of the countries who announced the assessments broke their voices in the same way as their adult counterparts in May of this year.

In 2014, the twelfth festival was held in the small Maltese city of Marsa. The broadcast was produced by the national television channel RBS. In the nursery song contest 16 countries participated. The hashtag Together became the slogan of the song holiday, that is, together. Previously, the rules stated that the selection of a country representative is carried out by open voting of viewers, but since 2014, many states have switched to internal selections, removing national qualifying rounds.

For the first time, the organizers abandoned the traditional draw: the participants sang in a pre-planned sequence. The first number was the representative of Belarus Nadezhda Misyakova with the composition "Falcon". Alisa Kozhikina from Russia was number thirteen. The girl performed the lyrical melody "Dreamer". The concert was closed by Julia van Bergen from the Netherlands. Her song was called "Around".

Junior Eurovision 2014 turned out to be truly girlish: among the performers there was only one boy. It was he, the Italian singer Vincenzo Cantiello, who got the first place. The composition was called "Your first great love." By genre, it can be attributed to lyrical ballads with a bright national flavor. An artistic boy with outstanding vocal abilities deservedly scored 159 points.

In second place was the Bulgarian trio: Krisiya Todorova, Khasan and Ibragim Ignatov. Their song "Planet of Children" brought the guys 147 points. Only one point behind the representative of Armenia - Elizabeth Danielyan. With the song "People of the Sun" she received "bronze". Russian Alisa Kozhikina is in fifth place with a score of 96 points.

Russia at Junior Eurovision

Let's talk in more detail about those young performers who defended the honor of Russia at children's competition Eurovision.

For the first time, Russian performers went to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2005. It was the group "Street Magic" and soloist Vlad Krutskikh. The song "City of the Sun" received 9th place. 2006 was a victorious year for our country. At the competition, Russia was represented by sisters Masha and Nastya Tolmacheva. Their incendiary "Spring Jazz" captivated both the audience and the jury in Bucharest. Nine-year-old twins from Kursk managed to earn 154 points. The girls wrote the contest song in collaboration with their mother. In 2014, the grown-up singers went to conquer the adult Eurovision Song Contest and took 6th place. A matter of taste, but the young blond Russians looked much nicer than the bearded Conchita Wurst.

In 2009, Katya Ryabova and her composition " The little Prince were awarded silver. Russia also won second place in 2010, when the duet of Liza Drozd and Sasha Lazin presented the song "Boy & Girl" to the public. By the way, the guys were only one point behind the winners.

As we have already said, in 2014 Alisa Kozhikina went to Malta. The girl comes from the small village of Uspenka in the Kursk region. At the age of 11, she has already managed to participate in the "Children's New Wave - 2013", as well as win the "Voice" project. Alisa's producer was Maxim Fadeev, it was he who created the contest song "Dreamer". The text belongs to Alice herself and Olga Seryabkina ( Silver group). Despite the high-quality performance, the girl failed to earn high points: Serbia, Armenia, Belarus - 10 points; Cyprus - 8; Bulgaria, Slovenia - 7; Ukraine, Croatia, San Marino, Montenegro - 5; Armenia, Georgia - 3; Sweden - 1; Netherlands, Italy - 0. Maxim Fadeev openly spoke about the politicization of the competition and a biased attitude towards the Russian performer.
