Eco-lessons are held in the municipal educational organizations of the city of Novokuznetsk every third week of the month during the academic year.

The main goal of conducting Eco-lessons is to develop a system of environmental education and enlightenment on the territory of the Novokuznetsk urban district, to create an educational environment that forms an ecological culture as part of the general culture of a person’s personality, which is a set of ecologically developed areas: intellectual, emotional-sensory and activity.

On April 1, the acceptance of applications for participation in the All-Russian campaign of a single day of action "Day of Environmental Knowledge" ended. Based on the results of the work, the RSSL has created a map of environmental education events that will be held in the libraries of the country on April 15, the International Day of Environmental Knowledge. Everyone will be able to find the nearest library on the map and find out what activities they can take part in.

1520 libraries from 74 regions of Russia from Kaliningrad to Khabarovsk Territory have registered to participate in the action. We are surrounded by nature. Everywhere. Even those of us who spend all our time in noisy, dusty cities, see rare trees on the boulevards, sometimes walk through quiet green squares, admire bright flower beds. From time to time, nature reminds of itself and its own importance, superiority over the entire human race with cataclysms and, as a result, hundreds of lost lives. So she wants to reach out to us - the creators and at the same time the victims of the process of urbanization. However, there are people who every second remember the need to maintain the natural environment in its original state and protect it from the negative influence of the human factor. These are ecologists. There are many holidays in the world designed to convey to society the idea of ​​joint protection of natural resources. One of them is celebrated by the inhabitants of the planet every year on April 15 and it is called the Day of Ecological Knowledge.

Significant date April 15 The Day of Environmental Knowledge traces its history back to the beginning of the 90s. last century. In 1992, a UN conference was held in Rio De Janeiro, during which the participants discussed the main problems of the environment and emphasized the importance of environmental education for intelligent inhabitants and actual owners of the globe as a factor necessary for the sustainable development of mankind. Then someone put forward the idea of ​​establishing the Day of Ecological Knowledge, the holding of which would have a global scale. Apparently, the colleagues took the initiative of the resourceful participant of the conference with enthusiasm and enthusiasm, otherwise April 15 would not be listed today in the register of socially significant holidays.

The Russians learned about the existence of the environmental date a little later. The Day of Ecological Knowledge came to our country only 4 years after its inception. In 1993, representatives of domestic public environmental organizations of Kuzbass came up with the initiative to regularly hold a celebration recognized by the whole planet in 1993. It is interesting that the idea to keep pace with the world "resulted" not only in the establishment of the Day of Ecological Knowledge in Russia, but in a large-scale annual all-Russian action. The latter, according to the Government Decree "On holding in April-June 1994 the All-Russian Days of Protection from Environmental Hazards" dated February 4, 1994 No. 125-r, lasts from April 15 to June 5 - that is, until World Environment Day and Ecologist Day in Russia.

The task of the action and, in fact, the Day of Ecological Knowledge holiday is to promote knowledge to the masses, form and develop an ecological culture among the population of the country, and inform the inhabitants of the state about the state of affairs in the field of environmental safety. Thanks to the All-Russian Days of Protection from Environmental Hazards, each of us has a great opportunity to contribute to solving the problem of the global environmental crisis within a particular region. Since 1996, when the citizens of our country celebrated the Day of Ecological Knowledge for the first time, on April 15, in all corners of our vast Motherland, representatives of environmental institutions organize interesting, educational events that promote the importance of obtaining and deepening environmental knowledge. They give lectures of the appropriate content, decorate cities with posters informing about the need to protect animals, plants and natural resources of the Earth.

Employees of libraries, scientific institutions, teachers of educational institutions of different levels are especially active on the Day of Ecological Knowledge. Round tables, conferences, exhibitions, seminars, even ecological concerts are held in these organizations from April 15 to June 5. To achieve this goal, you will need neither more nor less - it is more rational to use bioresources, think not only about your own benefit and benefit, but - first of all - about the importance of preserving the natural habitat safe and sound.

Why is ecological knowledge necessary?

The question, one might say, is topical, because today we are increasingly seeing a disregard for the attitude of the population of the planet to nature. This applies not only to large corporations involved in the direct use of natural resources for personal or public purposes on a frightening scale, but also to each person individually. After all, judge for yourself: we have picnics, going out into nature, and after ourselves we leave mountains of synthetic garbage; we pluck flowers while walking in a forest or a meadow, we collect herbs, often pulling them out right with the roots, without thinking at all that in this way we deprive the plants of the ability to reproduce; we kill hares, foxes, wild ducks not for the sake of satisfying hunger, but for fun...

There are countless examples of consumer, thoughtless attitude to the human environment. And this happens not only because of the lack of conscience among citizens, but also because of the insufficiently high level of environmental education and culture. Having mastered ecological knowledge to the proper extent, an individual is able to make purposeful changes in the environment while maintaining the unity of nature and humanity.
