Magomaev, are there any children. Talented people: biography of Muslim Magomayev

Childhood and youth

Muslim Magomaev was born on August 17, 1942 in Baku. His father is Mohammed Magomaev, theater artist, died at the front 15 days before the Victory, mother - Aishet Magomaeva (stage name - Kinzhalova), dramatic actress, Stalinist scholarship holder. Paternal grandfather - Abdul-Muslim Magomayev, an Azerbaijani composer, whose name is the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic, is one of the founders of Azerbaijani classical music. About the origin of the mother, Muslim Magomayev wrote that she was born in Maikop, her father was a Turk by nationality, and her mother was half Adyghe, half Russian. About the origin of his father, he said that his mother was a Tatar (his grandmother Bagdagul-Jamal was the sister of Ali and Hanafi Teregulov), and it is not known who the ancestors of his father were by origin. Journalist Said-Khamzat Gerikhanov writes in one of his articles that his father's ancestors were from the Chechen tukkhum teip Shotoi. Muslim Magomayev himself always considered himself an Azerbaijani, and said about citizenship: "Azerbaijan is my father, Russia is my mother."

Mother, having lost her husband, chose a theatrical career, leaving for Vyshny Volochek, and left her son to be raised by her uncle Jamal Muslimovich Magomayev. Muslim studied at the music school at the Baku Conservatory (now the secondary special music school named after Bulbul) in piano and composition. The talented student was noticed by the professor of the conservatory, cellist V. Ts. Anshelevich, who began to give him lessons. Anshelevich did not set the voice, but showed how to fillet it. The experience gained in the classes with the cellist professor came in handy later when Magomayev began working on the part of Figaro in The Barber of Seville. Since there was no vocal department at the school, Muslim in 1956 was admitted to the Baku Musical College named after Asaf Zeynalli, studied with the teacher A. A. Milovanov and his long-term accompanist T. I. Kretingen (graduated in 1959).

Creative activity

His first performance took place in Baku, in the House of Culture of Baku Sailors, where fifteen-year-old Muslim went in secret from his family. The family was against Muslim's early performances because of the risk of losing his voice. However, Muslim himself decided that his voice had already been formed and that he was not in danger of losing his voice.

In 1961, Magomayev made his debut in the professional Song and Dance Ensemble of the Baku Military District. In 1962, Magomayev became a laureate of the World Festival of Youth and Students in Helsinki for his performance of the song "Buchenwald Alarm".

All-Union fame came after his performance in the Kremlin Palace of Congresses at the final concert of the Azerbaijani Art Festival in 1962.

The first solo concert of Muslim Magomayev took place on November 10, 1963 in the Concert Hall. Tchaikovsky.

In 1963, Magomayev became a soloist with the Azerbaijan Opera and Ballet Theater named after. Akhundov, continues to perform on the concert stage.

In 1964-1965 he trained at the Milan theater "La Scala" (Italy).

In the 1960s, he performed in the largest cities of the Soviet Union in the performances of Tosca and The Barber of Seville (Maria Bieshu was among the partners). He did not accept the offer to join the troupe of the Bolshoi Theater, not wanting to limit himself to opera performances.

In 1966 and 1969, Muslim Magomayev's tour at the famous Olympia theater in Paris was a great success. The director of Olympia, Bruno Coquatrix, offered Magomayev a contract for a year, promising to make him an international star. The singer seriously considered such an opportunity, but the Ministry of Culture of the USSR refused, citing the fact that Magomayev should perform at government concerts.

In the late 1960s, having learned that the Rostov Philharmonic was in financial difficulties, and the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Don Cossacks did not have decent costumes for the planned tour in Moscow, Magomayev agreed to help by performing at a crowded local stadium that could seat 45,000 people. It was planned that Magomayev would perform in only one department, but he spent more than two hours on stage. For this performance, he was paid 606 rubles, instead of 202 rubles, which were then laid down by law for speaking in one department. The administrators assured him that such a rate was quite legal and approved by the Ministry of Culture, but this turned out not to be the case. The speech in Rostov-on-Don was the reason for initiating a criminal case through the OBKhSS.

When this was reported to Magomayev, who spoke at the Paris Olympia, the emigrant circles offered him to stay, but Magomayev chose to return to the USSR, because he could not imagine life away from his homeland and understood that emigration could put his relatives in a difficult situation in the USSR.

Although the proceedings did not reveal any guilt of Magomayev, who signed for the money received in the official statement, nevertheless, the USSR Ministry of Culture forbade Magomayev to perform tours outside of Azerbaijan. Using his free time, Magomayev passed all the exams and graduated from the Baku Conservatory in the singing class of Shovket Mammadova only in 1968. The disgrace of Magomayev ended after the chairman of the KGB of the USSR Yu. V. Andropov personally called Ekaterina Furtseva and demanded that Magomayev perform at a concert on the occasion of the anniversary of the KGB, stating that everything was clean with Magomayev through the KGB.

In 1969, at the International Festival in Sopot, Magomayev received the 1st prize, and in Cannes in 1968 and 1970 at the International Festival of Recording and Music Publications (MIDEM) - the Golden Disc, for multi-million copies of records.

In 1973, at the age of 31, Magomayev received the title of People's Artist of the USSR, which followed the title of People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR.

From 1975 to 1989, Magomayev was the artistic director of the Azerbaijan State Variety Symphony Orchestra, which he created, with which he toured extensively in the USSR.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Magomayev's popularity in the USSR was boundless: stadiums of many thousands, endless tours throughout the Soviet Union, and frequent television appearances. Records with his songs came out in huge circulation. To this day, he remains an idol for many generations of people in the post-Soviet space.

Toured abroad (France, NRB, GDR, Poland, Finland, Canada, Iran, etc.).

Magomayev's concert repertoire included more than 600 works (arias, romances, songs). Muslim Magomayev is the author of more than 20 songs, music for performances, musicals and films. He was also the author and host of a series of TV programs about the life and work of the stars of the world opera and pop scene, including the American singer Mario Lanza, and wrote a book about this singer.

In 1997, one of the minor planets of the solar system, known to astronomers under the code 1974 SP1, was named after Magomaev after 4980 Magomaev.

In 1998, Muslim Magomayev decided to stop his creative activity. The last years of his life he lived in Moscow, refusing concert performances. He was engaged in painting, corresponded with his fans through his personal website on the Internet. Regarding the termination of performances, Muslim Magomayev said: “God has determined a certain time for each voice, for each talent, and there is no need to step over it,” although there have never been problems with the voice. He was a personal friend of Heydar Aliyev. He was a member of the leadership of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress.

One of the last songs of Muslim Magomayev was the song "Farewell, Baku" to the verses of Sergei Yesenin, recorded in March 2007.

Muslim Magomaev died on October 25, 2008 at the age of 66 from coronary heart disease, in the arms of his wife Tamara Sinyavskaya. We will dwell in this material on the most significant moments in the life of Muslim Magomayev. We will tell in a brief description, based on the dates, how bright this short life was. The difficulty lies in the fact that it is impossible to describe in the dry language of dates and events such a stormy life and cosmic take-off in a creative career.

short biography

Muslim Magomayev in different periods of life

We note right away that Muslim Magometovich was lucky to be born in the famous creative family of Azerbaijan, which originates from his grandfather, the famous original composer, Muslim Magomayev. The father of the future brilliant singer and composer was also an extraordinary person; he found the application of his creative potential in applied art. The talented artist worked in the most famous theaters of Baku as a graphic designer, however, the war interrupted his creative life, Magomet Magomayev went to fight. He could no longer return home, he died in Berlin a few days before the victory, when his son was already three years old.

Muslim Magomayev in childhood

Magomayev was born in the most difficult time for the country, it was 1942, on August 17, Aishat Magomaeva, the mother of the future celebrity, gave the world an extraordinary personality. It should be noted that the mother of the famous singer was also a gifted person, a talented dramatic actress worked in the theater under the pseudonym "Kinzhalova", was also awarded a Stalinist scholarship, which speaks of her creative merits.

Family of Muslim Magomayev

Why, then, nature did not stint and endowed the future vocalist not only with an amazing voice, a talent for a unique perception of music and the ability to compose it, but also with excellent external data. Trying to understand such natural generosity, you involuntarily pay attention to the genealogy, and with great interest you learn that several peoples have left their mark on it. The Russian, Adyghe, Turkish and Tatar peoples turned out to be not at all alien to the future Azerbaijani singer.

Great artist and simple man

However, already in adulthood, Muslim Magomayev, whose biography we get acquainted with, learn about the years of his life and the cause of death, uttered his famous phrase that Azerbaijan is his father for him, and Russia is his mother, expressing all the love and devotion to these peoples.

Childhood

Muslim Magomayev with his mother Aishat

After the war, the boy was taken by his father's side, deciding that he would be better off in their family, his father's brother Jamal made such a decision, with which Aishat was forced to agree. Mom, of course, missed her son, loved him very much, but understood that the boy needed a male upbringing and a large family. Left alone, she decided to continue her creative path and left for Vyshny Volochok, where she got a job at the local drama theater.

Muslim Magomayev from childhood was completely devoted to music

But love for her son did not make it possible to live a full life, and Aishat decided to secretly take him to her place, taking him away from Azerbaijan. For some time they lived together, it seemed that life was getting better, she felt that her son also loved her very much. And Muslim, who at that time was 9 years old, already quite meaningfully got acquainted with the theatrical life and its musical side. He showed organizational skills, created his own puppet theater with classmates, wrote plays and made characters for performances themselves.

But a year later, Jamal insisted that the boy return to his family and that was the end of it. Mom began to live her own life, got married and gave birth to two more children, Tatiana and Yuri.

Having finally moved to Baku, Muslim, who had previously shown musical abilities, began to study piano at the music school at the conservatory. Jamal's family was highly intelligent and belonged to the elite Baku society, the uncle gave the boy everything he needed and sought to develop the child's musical talent, obvious to everyone.

General education was given to the boy with great difficulty, he was completely absorbed by music, especially there was a strong desire to engage in vocals. So in 1956, fourteen-year-old Muslim became a student at the Baku Musical College named after Zeynalla Asaf.

A completely adult life began, filled with meaning, my favorite passion for music completely captured. The first public appearance took place secretly from everyone, in 1957 Muslim Magomayev (this is a fact of the biography, studying which, we get acquainted with the years of life and the cause of death) performed on the stage of Baku sailors.

Muslim Magomayev has always been in the center of female attention

This performance captured him completely, probably then he made a firm decision to permanently link his life with the stage. The fears of the teachers and the uncle regarding the mutation of the voice did not materialize, and huge prospects opened up before the singer.

The rapid start of the creative path

Muslim Magomayev concert after concert, this is how his life went

In 1959, Muslim graduated from the music school, continued to perform at various concerts, and two years later became a soloist in a professional song and dance ensemble at the Baku Military District. Concert activity did not interfere with the continuation of the professional development of the young artist, the filigree work on the formation of the voice continued.

The first awards and prizes appeared, and in 1962 Muslim Magomayev went to his first performance at the international venue in Helsinki as part of the delegation of our country. Glory came with lightning speed and deafeningly, Muslim became a laureate at this festival of youth and students, performing the amazing song "Buchenwald Alarm".

Muslim Magomayev in his mature years

The older generation of our country perfectly remembers the impression of hearing the song, it was a real shock, goosebumps ran through the body, tears in the eyes and a lump in the throat. The country, which not so long ago defeated a terrible evil and lost its best sons, froze from such a performance, everyone asked who it was, what kind of phenomenon it was, and were proud of such a compatriot.

Immediately after this incredible success, in the same year, Muslim Magomayev performed on the Kremlin stage at the Azerbaijan Art Festival and literally "wakes up" incredibly famous.

Muslim Magomayev with Soviet leaders of that time

Magomayev literally broke into the musical life of the country, conquered it not only with his voice, but also with his appearance and special demeanor with great dignity, but at the same time demonstrating natural modesty and intelligence. Everyone at that time was only talking about Magomayev and Gagarin's flight into space, these were two practically equivalent events.

Life is like a bright comet

Muslim Magomayev not a day without music

In 1960, Muslim Magomayev, as is known from his biography, when he got acquainted with the years of his life and the cause of death, married a classmate, about whom it is only known that her name was Ophelia, they had to leave a year later, even the birth of their daughter Maria did not save the marriage. Muslim suffered a divorce easily, he was captivated by the rapidly gaining momentum, life along with music, and the singer has always enjoyed incredible popularity among women.

Awards literally rained down on Muslim Magomayev

Creativity brought more and more pleasure, contributing to the further growth of skill, and in 1963 Muslim Magomayev already held his first solo concert at one of the main venues in the country - the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. Professional growth in chamber art also continues, Magomayev becomes a soloist of the Azerbaijan Opera and Ballet Theater named after Akhundov.

Muslim Magomayev always passionately performed his musical works

In 1964, Magomayev trained abroad, honing his operatic skills in Italy, at the famous Milanese opera house La Scala. After Italy, Magomayev toured the country with performances of The Barber of Seville and Tosca, the success was simply resounding, the entire intelligentsia of the country visited his performances.

The logical result of success was an invitation to work in the troupe of the Bolshoi Theater, but Magomayev chose creative freedom and versatile musical activities.

The successful performance in the 66th year on the stage of the Parisian Olympia was also appreciated by the French, Magomayev received an offer to conclude a contract for a year.

Muslim Magomayev at a friendly gathering

However, in those days, no one could make their own decisions about working abroad, even such great and popular artists. And to make it more intelligible, a whole company turned against Magomayev, with the involvement of government agencies that stand guard over socialist legality. Magomayev showed wisdom and did not go against the system, to stay abroad forever, as he was offered by the "Soviet dissidents", he also did not, being an unconditional patriot of his small homeland of Azerbaijan and the country as a whole.

Muslim Magomayev short rest

In 1969, when the company to discredit him ended, Muslim Magomayev, according to his biography, getting acquainted with which we study his years of life and the cause of death, was again able to perform on the Olympia stage. I must say that the years 1968-1969 were especially successful in his creative career, the Golden Disc award at Cannes and the first prize at the International Festival in Sopot.

Muslim Magomayev at the time of creative work with Pakhmutova

A new stage, both in personal life and in a musical career

In 1972, a significant event took place in the singer's personal life, he met his future wife Tamara Sinyavskaya in Baku at the festival of Russian musical art. Young people were seized by a sense of attraction, they were united by many things, both were incredibly popular and recognized by both society and the authorities, they were young and beautiful, but the main thing, of course, was music.

Muslim Magomayev and his true love

Magomayev was a free man, although he was spoiled by female attention, but Sinyavskaya decided not to change her status as a married woman and went on an internship to Italy, with the firm intention of forgetting everything. As follows from her story, what was her surprise when she found out that she and Magomayev, who at that time also ended up in Milan, were put in the same room. The incident, of course, was over, but Sinyavskaya decided that this was a sign of fate and did not resist the surging feeling with renewed vigor.

Muslim Magomayev and Tamara Sinyavskaya

The very Italian atmosphere and music connected these two most talented people even more strongly. According to the stories of Pakhmutova and Dobronravov, many were worried about this couple, the song “Orpheus” was written especially for the situation, which became the anthem of their joint happiness. In 1974, they got married, lived together until the very end of the great artist, despite the fact that the relationship was not easy.

Family photo of the great artist

In the meantime, everything was going incredibly well, the year 73 became especially significant, Muslim Magomayev (a fact of the biography, which we are studying, as well as years of life and cause of death) was awarded the highest title of "People's Artist of the USSR". In general, the 70s is just a fantastic popularity of the artist, both in the country and abroad.

Muslim Magomayev always felt the support of his wife

Continuing to tour the country, Magomayev did not leave the republic and in 1975 created a pop-symphony orchestra there. Having become the artistic director of the created orchestra, he remained it for many years, until 1989. In those days, not a single festive concert took place in the country without the participation of Muslim Magomayev, he is invited to all government events.

Muslim Magomayev continued concert activities

Hectic creative life did not let him relax for a minute, Magomayev performs with various musical works, he is equally good, both in opera and on the stage, arias, symphonies, are replaced by romances and pop compositions. It is impossible to even imagine how densely his life was filled with music. Moscow attracted more and more and did not want to let go, so in 1989 Magomayev, tired of constant moving, settled in Moscow completely.

Muslim Magomayev and other celebrities of that time

Life becomes less dressed up, and the beloved woman is always there, but a busy life makes itself felt. Problems with the heart and blood vessels no longer allow working as before, Muslim Magomayev appears less and less at concerts, without missing the most prestigious ones.

Muslim Magomayev on a walk

But after 4 years, at the age of 60, Magomayev decides to leave the concert activity, but he is still active and does not quit his job. Together with Tamara Sinyavskaya, they devoted more time to rest, traveled, but there was less and less strength left. After 6 years, Magomayev died of an ischemic attack, next to him was his muse and the love of his life.

Muslim Magomayev at the height of his fame

The beloved artist is gone, but he will be remembered for a very long time with surprise from such a bright and talented personality and with great gratitude.

Surely, many believe that M. Magomayev had only one wife all his life, an opera singer. However, before her, although not for long, he was married to an Armenian Ophelia, who gave birth to his daughter, Marina Magomaeva. Muslim Magomayev, of course, was very burdened by the fact that his child lives and is brought up away from him, but such is life ...

Parent meeting

The father of Marina Magomayeva-Kozlovskaya is a famous Soviet singer, baritone Muslim Magomayev, and her mother Ophelia (her last name is not mentioned anywhere), an Armenian by nationality, was Muslim's classmate at the Baku Musical College. She was a very attractive girl, with luxurious jet-black hair, eyebrows like crescents, and it is not surprising that the future famous singer fell in love with her. They were both 18 years old. It seemed like love forever! Ophelia was from a very chaste family, so she never allowed herself any liberties. Muslim's passion was very strong, and in order to achieve Ophelia's intimacy, he decided not to postpone his marriage to her.

Against all odds

His relatives - his grandmother, uncle and his wife (the artist's father died at the front, and his mother got married, leaving the child in the care of her mother-in-law and brother-in-law) - did not want the talented young man to be under family burden so quickly. Grandmother - in the future, the great-grandmother of Marina Magomayeva-Kozlovskaya - even stole his passport and hid it from a neighbor so that her grandson, God forbid, would not apply to the registry office. However, this information soon surfaced, and Muslim, thanks to assertiveness and charm - qualities that no one could resist - managed to persuade the grandmother's friend to return the passport. In the family of Ophelia, no one suspected that their daughter was going to marry an 18-year-old youngster who was nothing, otherwise they would also have resisted.

Marriage

The young couple put their relatives before the fact: whether you like it or not, we are legal spouses. Muslim did not want to bring the young Armenian woman to his uncle's house, and the newlyweds settled in the house of Ophelia's parents. The father-in-law and mother-in-law, to put it mildly, did not approve of the daughter's choice. I wonder if they knew that their future son-in-law would be one of the outstanding singers of the USSR, would their attitude be the same? They sawed him all the time and advised him to find a good, and most importantly, well-paid job in order to be able to provide for his family, they offered to perform in various ensembles in restaurants, where, in their opinion, they paid much more than in a philharmonic society or an air defense ensemble. As a result of all these troubles, the young couple decided to leave for work in Grozny. Despite the fact that Muslim did not recognize his Chechen origin and publicly talked about being an Azerbaijani, the blood of a highlander flowed in his veins. That is why he sought refuge in the homeland of his ancestors.

Birth story

Ofelia, unlike her parents, did not reproach her beloved for not earning enough money to support her, but when she realized that she was pregnant, she physically could not be near her husband, who traveled around the villages with concerts all the time. She herself no longer understood whether she wanted to be with him, because she no longer received warmth or affection from him. He seemed to take out his anger on her parents, although in his natural kindness and decency he was not frankly rude to her. However, Ophelia knew exactly what she wanted at all costs and despite the persuasion of her parents to give birth to a child from this charming young talent. Without telling him anything about her pregnancy, she went back to Baku, where she gave birth to a daughter, who was named Marina Magomayeva (born 1961).

Meanwhile, in Grozny, Magomayev was becoming unbearable, despite his growing popularity. He was not paid fees, they even refused to pay for housing, and once he even had to spend the night in the park on a bench. Once, having met his colleague Musa Dudayev, he told him in her hearts: "I'm a Chechen, why do they treat me so badly?" Never again in his life did he admit that he belonged to the Chechen nation and called himself an Azerbaijani, since he was born and raised there. Resentment towards "native" Chechnya grew stronger in him, and then one day he received a letter from Baku, where it was reported that Ofelia had given birth to a daughter. Muslim Magomayev was very surprised, but at the same time delighted, because for a Caucasian man the birth of a child is not just words, it is great happiness, a blessing from heaven and a new stage in life.

Meeting with daughter

Without thinking twice, he collected his things (there were not so many of them) and went to his wife and his baby. The daughter of Muslim Magomayev has been simply charming since childhood. Still, because she had such beautiful parents, and the mixing of so many bloodlines (Chechen, Adyghe, Azerbaijani, Russian and Armenian) should have given such a result. By the way, Muslim's mother was also an incredible beauty with Slavic features, which were also passed on to her son. If you look at his childhood photographs, you can see that there is practically nothing oriental in the boy, but with age, Caucasian features began to take over.

The daughter of Muslim Magomayev, Marina, however, from early childhood was a typical oriental beauty. At a more mature age, the singer admitted that he immediately flared up with boundless love for the baby and began to have feelings for her, still unknown to him, which only his child can awaken in a parent. For the first time he saw his baby in winter, on the day when snow suddenly fell in sunny Baku, he began to call his baby Snegurochka. The very first memories of a daughter about her father are connected precisely with how he takes her in his arms, kisses her gently and calls her a snowflake and a snow maiden.

Parting

Despite the birth of their daughter, Muslim and Ophelia nevertheless broke up. Father-in-law - a very intelligent person, a geodesic scientist, an employee of the Academy of Sciences - talked with his son-in-law several times, assuring that this could not be done, because there was a common child, but Muslim was adamant. Even before filing for divorce, he did not want to spend a day in the house of Ophelia's parents. He could not forgive her mother's insulting words: "You will not become a good husband." When parting, he, of course, said that he would always take care of his daughter, pay alimony, communicate with the girl and provide her with all kinds of support, but he no longer wants to tie the knot, he is a creative person and music comes first for him ! Marina Magomaeva - the daughter of Muslim Magomayev - forever remained his favorite child. She grew up as a very musical girl, and her father hoped that someday she would follow in his footsteps and they would sing together on the same stage.

The history of the name of the daughter of Muslim Magomayev

It is interesting to know that he himself chose the name of his daughter. He had long known that if he had a daughter, he would certainly call her Marina, as his first love. And it happened when he was 13 years old. The girl was very beautiful, he remembered her just like that. All the boys in the school ran after her, and she was impregnable and very proud. Muslim dedicated the song "Marina" to her and performed it at school events, youth discos. Later, in the 70s, an arrangement was made for this song, and it began to sound from many concert venues. Those who knew that the singer had a daughter thought that the song was dedicated to her, however, as we already know, he wrote it, inspired by the young beauty Marina, whom he was in love with as a teenager.

Childhood and youth

Many are probably interested in what did the daughter of Muslim Magomayev, Marina Magomaeva, do in her childhood? She grew up as a very kind, affectionate girl, and every time he met her, dad simply melted in her arms and was ready to fulfill her every wish. People close to the singer said that he paid ex-wife crazy alimony. The daughter was musically gifted. Still, both of her parents were musicians (as already mentioned, Ophelia and Muslim met at a music school). After consulting with her ex-husband, Ofelia sent her daughter to a music school for a piano class. After that, the father began to dream that he would sing to the accompaniment of his daughter. But this was not destined to happen either, because the daughter, although she was a good pianist, did not gravitate towards public performances, unlike her famous father. At the insistence of her Armenian grandfather, Ophelia's father, she became a geographer.

Departure to the States

It was 1977. Muslim has been married to his colleague, opera singer Tamara Sinyavskaya, for two years now. He cherished and cherished in her. A couple of children have not yet been (unfortunately, they have not had children in 35 years of married life). And now Muslim receives the news that Ophelia and her daughter are leaving for the other side of the Atlantic, to America. How so? How will he live apart from his beloved? Many years later, Magomayev, in an interview with reporters, said that there were three great loves in his life - Music, daughter Marina and wife Tamara. The daughter said that, if possible, she would often visit her father, and let him come to them. But after all, there were Soviet times, and it was very difficult to implement this.

Marina Magomaeva: personal life, children

So, at the age of 16, the daughter of a famous singer, who was known by fans of both classical and pop music (during this period, Muslim had already entered into cooperation with the great Armenian composer Arno Babajanyan, and the whole country sang and danced to his music), received a visa to the United States. States and left the country with her mother Ophelia. In the same period, the family of a friend of Magomayev, also a representative of show business (this word was not used in the USSR) Kozlovsky also left for America. After some time, the singer found out that his daughter and Alexander Kozlovsky - the son of his longtime friend - had found each other in a foreign land, and love broke out between them. At first, his heart sank. How? His little princess, the Snow Maiden, has already grown so much that she is going to get married? On the other hand, he knew the family of the future groom very well and was a friend of his father. He, of course, gave his father's blessing. Thus, Alexander Kozlovsky became the husband of Marina Magomaeva.

Soon a son was born in the family, who was given the name Alain, but he had several more names, and one of them was Muslim, like his famous grandfather.

Relationship with father's family

Marina and her son often visited their grandfather, sometimes Alexander Kozlovsky, the son-in-law of the famous singer, joined them. It also happened that Magomayev and Sinyavskaya visited them in Ohio. Tamara and Ofelia had a great relationship. As Marina's mother said: "Tamara did not take my husband away from me, he met her after more than 10 years." Alain also became very attached to his grandmother Tamara.

Parting

When the news reached Marina that her dad had died, she was not given a visa to Moscow. It was 2008. Then she went straight to Baku, where the body of the singer was transported. Ofelia also wanted to say goodbye to her ex-husband, however, being an Armenian, she understood that she would not be welcome in Azerbaijan.

Little Alain did not know at first that his grandfather was no more, since his grandmother Tamara believed that this would be a big stress for the boy. For some time he expected that his grandfather would soon come to him, but after a while his mother explained to him what had happened to his grandfather.

Childhood and youth of Muslim MagomayevMuslim Magomayev was born in the capital of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic - the city of Baku in a terrible war for the Soviet Union. The Magomayev clan became famous long before the birth of Muslim.

The grandfather, after whom the future singer was named, was an original genius - a composer and conductor, the founder of national classical music. Magomet Magomayev, father, inherited the genius of his parent, but in a different manifestation - he became a talented artist and worked as a decorator-designer in the theaters of Baku and Maikop until he left for the front.

Aishet Magomayeva (stage name - Kinzhalova), mother, was a talented dramatic actress with an outstanding musical gift. Muslim did not remember his father at all. Mohammed died near Berlin a few days before the end of the war. Aishet, having lost her husband, returned to Maykop, and then went to Vyshny Volochek, leaving Muslim in Baku under the care of the brother of her deceased husband, Jamal Muslimovich. The uncle who replaced the boy's father and grandfather was a strict and fair man.

Jamal did not indulge his nephew, but did everything that depended on him so that the child would not feel his orphanhood. He managed to instill in Muslim pride and devotion to his roots, country, and finally, music, which accompanied the boy from birth. Jamal did not receive a musical education, but played the piano well.

The grown-up Muslim entered the music school at the conservatory in piano and composition. There was simply no other way for a gifted boy with an absolute ear for music and a voice of incredible purity and strength.

Longing for her son, Aishet decided to take him to her place, to Vyshny Volochek. Nine-year-old Muslim happily went with his mother to a small Russian city, completely different from his native, bright and sunny Baku.

In addition to the boundless happiness of reuniting with his mother and many new experiences, the boy was expected to get acquainted with the Theater, not from the auditorium, but completely different, very close - with long rehearsals, the sounds of tuned instruments in the orchestra pit and the mysterious smell of backstage.

Muslim Magomayev - The best city in the world. 1988-9. Muslim Magomaev In Vyshny Volochek, Muslim continued to study at a music school, quickly gained popularity among his classmates, infecting them with the idea of creating their own puppet theater. It was at that time that the boy showed a gift for drawing and modeling - he himself made puppets for the performance.

A year later, Muslim returned to Baku. This was the decision of Aishet, who thought that in her native city her son's musical education would be more complete. After some time, the mother remarried.

In Baku, Muslim again plunged headlong into music. He could listen for hours to records with the voices of Enrico Caruso, Mattia Battistini, Beniamino Gigli, Titta Ruffo ... In the post-war years, many trophy films appeared, where a completely different atmosphere reigned, unfamiliar melodies and new voices sounded.

The family of the famous Azerbaijani performer Bulbul lived next to the Magomayevs, and the boy listened with abandon to the singer singing. Friendship with Bulbul's son Polad Muslim Magometovich kept until the end of his life. School successes were ambiguous: everything related to music - piano, solfeggio, musical literature, choir - ideally, but the rest ... Later, Muslim Magometovich recalled with a smile what a severe test for him were general education disciplines - physics, chemistry, mathematics. Then it even seemed to the schoolboy that at the sight of formulas his brain turns off.

In 1956, Muslim entered the Baku Musical College. Asaf Zeynaly, where the experienced vocalist A. A. Milovanov, soloist of the Baku Opera Theater V. A. Popchenko taught. The singer felt great gratitude all his life to the accompanist Tamara Isidorovna Kretingen, who studied with an extraordinary student in her spare time, found rare works by little-known composers for him.

Creativity Muslim Magomayev

In 1961, Muslim Magomayev became the soloist of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Baku Military District, which toured the Transcaucasus. A year later, the singer was part of the USSR delegation at the World Festival of Youth and Students in Helsinki and, having performed the song "Buchenwald Alarm", became its laureate.

In the 60s, Magomayev's beautiful powerful voice gained fame first in the Soviet Union, then in the world. In 1962, Magomayev performed at the Kremlin Palace of Congresses as part of the Azerbaijani Art Festival. A year later, without stopping performances on the stage, he became a soloist of the Azerbaijan Opera and Ballet Theater named after Akhundov.

In November 1963, the singer gave his first solo concert in the Concert Hall. Tchaikovsky. 1964-1965 Magomayev spent in Italy, where he did an internship at the La Scala theater in Milan. The tour of the young lyric baritone in 1966 and 1969 at the Olympia concert hall in Paris was a huge success.

A wonderful prospect opened up before Magomayev to conclude a contract for a year with the director of Olympia, but the USSR Ministry of Culture intervened, which forbade the singer to make independent decisions. Magomayev did not dare to confront the leadership: in those years, this was fraught with serious complications, up to accusations of betrayal of the motherland.

Muslim Magomayev - Wedding After returning to the Soviet Union, Muslim received an offer to join the Bolshoi Theater troupe, but rejected it because he did not want to remain in the rigid framework of opera performances.

The repertoire of one of the most popular singers in the country was extremely diverse - pop songs, opera arias, Russian romances, popular hits by Western composers, patriotic pathos inevitable for that time. State awards and prizes alternated with international ones - the first prize at the festival in Sopot, the "Golden Record" in Cannes. For decades, Magomayev has been an indispensable performer at government concerts, a participant in all holiday television programs.

He received the title of People's Artist in 1973, when he was 31 years old. In 1975, the singer created the Azerbaijan State Variety Symphony Orchestra and was its permanent artistic director until 1989. Magomayev managed to popularize modern Western trends in music, which were ostracized by the top party leadership of the country. It was in his performance from the big stage for the first time in the Soviet Union that the song "Yesterday" by the legendary group "The Beatles" sounded.

Magomayev composed music, took part in the filming of the films Muslim Agomayev Sings, Nizami, Moscow in Notes, and often toured abroad. The songs performed by him - "Elegy", "Thank you", "Melody", "Nocturne" and hundreds of others became hits that, thanks to Magomayev, will be popular for many more years. The singer performed leading roles in the operas "Tosca" by G. Puccini, "The Magic Flute" and "The Wedding of Figaro" by Mozart, "The Barber of Seville" by G. Rossini, "Otello" and "Rigoletto" by G. Verdi, "Faust" by C. Gounod, "Aleko" by S. V. Rachmaninov, "Eugene Onegin" by P. I. Tchaikovsky, "Pagliacci" by R. Leoncavallo.

Personal life of Muslim Magomayev

A tall, handsome young man with unique vocal abilities was very popular with classmates, one of whom he married in 1960. The young wife's name was Ophelia.

The marriage broke up shortly after the birth of Marina's daughter. The girl inherited the musical gift of the Magomayevs, graduated from a music school in piano and could become no less famous than her father, but preferred a different profession. Now she lives in the USA, but until the very end of Muslim Magometovich's life, she maintained the warmest relations with him.

M. Magomaev "You are my melody" In 1972, in Baku, Muslim met the young actress of the Bolshoi Theater Tamara Sinyavskaya, who was visiting the decade of Russian art in Azerbaijan. The meeting turned out to be fateful ... Tamara was married at that time and was not going to change anything, but contrary to common sense, the young people became inseparable. The idyll was broken when Sinyavskaya left for an internship in Italy. In 1974, Muslim and Tamara met again and decided to register their relationship. On November 23, a grandiose wedding banquet took place in a Moscow restaurant, which turned out to be a complete surprise for the young people - they wanted to arrange only a modest feast.

Joint life was not always cloudless. Both spouses were famous artists, had a strong character and were extremely reluctant to make concessions. However, Magomayev and Sinyavskaya were very attached to each other and did not find the strength to part forever.

The last years of Muslim Magometovich's life, they again became inseparable, they went on vacation together in Baku, swam in the Caspian Sea, savored barbecue. At a dacha near Moscow, where the couple set up a wonderful garden with an alpine hill and a huge number of plants, Magomayev continued to do what he loved: he composed music, wrote arrangements, and drew a lot.

Recent years and the cause of death of Muslim Magomayev

At the age of 60, Magomayev firmly decided to leave the stage and retire. The voice was still strong, but the heart could no longer withstand heavy loads. On October 25, 2008, the singer died in the arms of Tamara Ilyinichna ...

The reason for his untimely departure was vascular atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease. After the farewell ceremony with the great artist in the Concert Hall. Tchaikovsky in Moscow, the ashes of the deceased were delivered to his native Baku, where Magomayev found his last refuge next to his famous grandfather, on the Alley of Honor.

On August 17, 1942, in the capital of the Azerbaijan SSR, Baku, a boy was born who was to become a legend not only on the Azerbaijani and even Soviet stage, but also on the world stage.

Muslim Magometovich Magomaev - that was the name of this boy. An outstanding opera and pop singer and composer, whose baritone has repeatedly become the voice of the largest power on the planet, he soon became a People's Artist of the USSR, and later, when only memories remained of the Soviet Union, and a People's Artist of Russia. Muslim Magomayev was one of the few Soviet performers who received worldwide recognition in his youth. On November 10, 1963, Magomayev performed at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall with a solo program and left this hall as a star.

And what can I say, if throughout the sixties and seventies Muslim Magomayev had unheard of popularity. At his concerts, the stands of stadiums and concert halls were packed to capacity. He often appeared on television, and records with his recordings were released in gigantic circulations and never lingered on the shelves. Muslim Magometovich gave concerts wherever possible, from small rural clubs to the concert halls of the Kremlin and the largest stages in the world.

All over the world, Magomayev's voice was listened to, loved, and records of his concerts and albums were collected. Moreover, not always admirers of the Azerbaijani singer were his compatriots and the mass of the Russian-speaking population of the planet. And to this day, Muslim Magomayev has a huge number of fans throughout the post-Soviet space and beyond.

More precisely, he would have, if he had survived. Muslim Magometovich has been a heavy smoker all his adult life. It's amazing that it didn't do any harm to his wonderful voice. Until his death, Muslim Magomayev had a beautiful voice, not at all spoiled by smoking. Yes, indeed, tobacco did no harm to the singer's voice. But on the rest of the body dealt a mortal blow.

However, in relation to tobacco, it is difficult to say "hit", since death from tobacco is never sudden. She is always slow and painful. At first, the smoker does not even notice how tobacco, step by step, inexorably begins to destroy his health. First, teeth, skin, whites of the eyes, fingernails begin to turn yellow. Then shortness of breath begins, the sense of smell and taste become dull, vision falls. And after a few more months, the "smoker's cough" begins - the first sign that irreversible processes have begun in the body. This is the first signal that there is nothing left before the threshold, when it becomes useless to quit smoking.

Muslim Magometovich went through all the torment caused by tobacco. For many years, all his adult life, tobacco every day, without being lazy, regularly did its job of destroying the singer's body. For tobacco, there is no difference in who to kill. A smoker can have billions, and he will smoke only elite tobacco, and some gypsy boy will have nothing, and until the end of his days he will smoke cigarette butts thrown by other smokers.

But for both, if they do not quit smoking, the end will still be the same - a whole set of diseases, then a heart attack or cancer and death. Tobacco kills! Is always! And the only way to defeat him is not to smoke and, if possible, not to let others smoke. Muslim Magomayev could not overcome his own habit, although he said at the end of his life that if he could live his own life anew, then the only thing he would change would be to never smoke. But not a single person since the creation of the world has been able to live his own life twice.
