The best and worst beaches in Cyprus. The best white sand beaches in Cyprus

Date Promenade - the main street of Larnaca. A beautiful, well-maintained promenade, a municipal beach awarded with the Blue Flag award, restaurants, taverns and cafes for every taste! They say that in the 20s of the last century, when they planned and equipped the embankment and planted date palms, the famous embankment in Nice was taken as a role model.

Kastella Beach is a small beach within the old town of Larnaca. The beach is well maintained. The Department of the Environment continuously monitors the composition of the water in the area of this beach. It has established itself as a "calm" family beach, which is used by locals, as well as tourists from nearby small hotels.

Faros Beach is a modern sandy beach in the village of Pervolia (Larnaca district, Cyprus). The beach was awarded the Blue Flag for the cleanliness of the coast and coastline, amenities and safety. The construction of the beach began several years ago and is still ongoing. Long coastline, good sand and clear sea. There are few vacationers - mostly residents of the nearest villas use this beach.

The beach was awarded the Blue Flag for the cleanliness of the coast and coastline, amenities and safety. Until recently, the undeveloped and deserted beach has now become a respectable and comfortable place to relax. The beach has everything for a comfortable stay: sun loungers and umbrellas, showers and changing cabins, toilets.

The most beautiful wild beach in Cyprus.
Big-headed sea turtles come to these beaches to lay their eggs. Turtles lay their eggs from early June to mid-August, but they are not easy to see, they are extremely cautious and come out mainly at night. After laying their eggs, the turtles return to the sea. The turtles hatch after 7 weeks and rush to the sea, only the females will return to the island in a few years to continue their offspring.

The best sandy beaches in the Paphos area, near the village of Peyia. The beach was awarded the Blue Flag for the cleanliness of the coast and coastline, amenities and safety. A popular resort among tourists - there are many hotels, restaurants and attractions around.

One of the most unusual beaches, located between Limassol and Larnaca. White limestone cliffs are amazingly combined with ash black sand and clear blue sea. Cyprus is one of the best islands in the Mediterranean for both adults and children. But many tourists who are going to the resorts of the island with their children ask tour operators to advise where in Cyprus there are good sandy beaches with white sand that will fully meet your requirements. Which budget sandy beaches are most suitable for people with average incomes.

The best beaches in Ayia Napa

  • I would like to note right away that the best beaches of Cyprus with white sand are located in Ayia Napa and one of these is Nissi. During the day, adults and children swim and sunbathe here, and in the evening the beach turns into a dance floor and most tourists stay here all night. Along the entire embankment there are bars and restaurants where foam parties are held, various competitions are held and, moreover, some of them begin even in the afternoon. On Nissi beach you can meet people of all ages and everyone finds entertainment to their liking.

For small children, the conditions here are just perfect. Here convenient gentle descent into the sea, white clean sand and warm sea. Nearby there is a pier where motor boats with "bananas" stand, on which children can ride with their parents. By noon, the beach is completely filled with vacationers, so if you want to be alone, it is better to come here in the morning, when most of the tourists are still having breakfast. There are 3, 4 and 5 star hotels here.

But it must also be said that almost all areas of the beach are paid, so you have to buy a ticket in order to use sunbeds and umbrellas.

  • The beach is near the port Green Bay, which is perfect for families with children, since there are not so many entertainments here as on Nissi Beach. This is a large beach where you can comfortably sit under an umbrella, and in order to swim there is no need to walk knee-deep in water for a long time. Despite the proximity of the city, this beach has everything you need for a comfortable children's holiday. But young people will be bored here, as there are no noisy parties, foamy parties and famous DJs.
  • The beach is located on the shores of Cape Greco, and it is specially designed for a quiet and relaxing holiday, both for adults and children. It is not suitable for youth recreation, as there are no noisy bars and restaurants. Here you can go diving, windsurfing, water skiing, motor boats, scooters.

The best beaches in Protaras

Paphos beaches

I would like to note that the beaches of Limassol are not as picturesque as in other resorts, so they are of little use for children's recreation.

The beaches of the northern region of Cyprus

The regions of northern Cyprus can offer vacationers private, public, equipped, hotel and wild beaches. Entrance to equipped beaches is about 3 euros. There are umbrellas, sun loungers, toilets and showers. But there are also free beaches and one of them is Alagadi, where turtles lay their eggs in summer and you can show them to your children, who will be very interested to look at such exotic things. Most of the beaches are sandy, but sometimes the seabed turns into pebbles, so you need to be very careful, especially for kids. The most popular beaches in northern Cyprus are Acapulco, Camelot Beach, Deniz Kizi, and Escape.

And any entertainment venues, but also one of the cleanest beaches on the Mediterranean coast, deservedly called the best beaches in Cyprus.

Cyprus is a holiday destination that will appeal to tourists of any age category - each resort of the island provides its own atmosphere for spending holidays in Cyprus and fully complies with the stated requirements in the description of resort places.

The cost of tourist vouchers to Cyprus is quite high, but this is due to the respectability of the holiday on the island and the highest degree of safety for tourists on it.

Description of resorts in Cyprus

Ayia Napa

The local population proudly calls the resort of Cyprus Ayia Napa "the second Ibiza".

The description of the atmosphere that prevails in Ayia Napa always boils down to one phrase: "a resort with a vibrant nightlife that does not subside until dawn." Without a doubt, this is the best place in Cyprus for youth holidays.

All conditions have been created for this in Ayia Napa: at almost every step you can see bright signs of local restaurants, taverns and nightclubs. You will not be bored at the resort: with the onset of the evening, all the entertainment establishments of Ayia Napa open their doors to their visitors. Ayia Napa is a unique resort: couples with children will also feel comfortable here. The always calm sea due to the location of the resort in a cozy bay and gentle entry into the water is a huge plus for tourists with small children. On the territory of Ayia Napa there is the largest water park in Cyprus, which has at its disposal a wide variety of water slides and attractions aimed at obtaining different levels of extreme sensations. With regard to the choice of hotels in this resort of the island, one should be guided by the only rule: if you want to sleep peacefully at night, then you should give preference to hotels located not on the main streets so that the music coming from the discos does not interfere with your peaceful sleep

Limassol

In any description of this resort in Cyprus, it is necessarily said that Limassol is the most "Russian-speaking" resort on the entire island. And this is true: Limassol is the largest of the resorts of the island and the most "year-round": when in winter there is a lull in other places of rest, the holiday season in Cyprus continues in Limassol.

Limassol is suitable for absolutely any category of tourists:

  • for young people - there are a huge number of clubs, restaurants and taverns, where nightlife is seething and bursting with fun;
  • for couples with children - in Limassol there are as many as three water parks, an amusement park and the only zoo on the whole island in an amusement park;
  • the resort has a convenient strategic position - it is located at almost the same distance from all the most interesting sights of the island and automatically becomes an ideal place for tourists who want to visit everything that can be seen in Cyprus. On the territory of this resort of Cyprus, you can find both simple hotels and luxurious ones, where quite wealthy people rest. Another feature of Limassol is that even the most luxurious hotels have a rather small area, with only a few exceptions.

Larnaca

If the question is about the cheapest vacation in Cyprus, then there is no better place for this than Larnaca. To describe the essence of rest in Larnaca, the phrase is suitable: "the simplest of the resorts in Cyprus." The hotel fund provided for tourist accommodation consists mainly of 2-3 * hotels built on the coastline. Service in hotels corresponds to the price category, but is quite decent by European standards. Larnaca resort is a place where tourists from different countries come for a calm and quiet holiday. The main category of vacationers is the elderly or families with children. Young couples who want to spend time enjoying each other will also feel good here. On the beaches of Larnaca, as a rule, either small pebbles or gray-yellow sand are found. The seabed is sandy everywhere and the entrance to the sea is very gentle. The pride of the resort is the Finikoudis promenade, surrounded by an alley of date palms and offering stunning views of the bay. Finikoudis is a place of concentration of tourists from all over the world in the evening, when the heat subsides and a favorable period for walking begins.

Pathos

Do you want to spend your vacation without hearing Russian? Then the resort of Cyprus - Paphos should become a place for your vacation. The description for Paphos is as follows: this is the most elite resort on the island, where only financially wealthy people have a rest. In Paphos, not the best beaches of the island, most of them with a rocky entry into the sea. There are a small number of sandy beaches, the best of which is the beach in Coral Bay. Initially, the resort was focused on the British and Germans, for whom the beach played a secondary role during their holidays. This explains one of the features of the location of hotels in Paphos: some 3 * hotels have a better beach and more convenient entry into the sea than any of the expensive 5 * hotels. Paphos is not a place for families with children to relax: there are no children's entertainments here, and there is even no minimum animation for children on the territory of the hotels. But Paphos boasts a large number of first-class restaurants on the coast, where those who wish can taste delicious dishes prepared with love by local chefs.

Protaras

The resort of Cyprus Protaras is very conveniently located near the noisiest and most cheerful resort of the island of Ayia Napa. An atmosphere of calm and silence reigns here, but all the entertainment can always be reached by taxi, having overcome the path in a maximum of 15-20 minutes. To describe Protaras in order to attract the tourist flow, one can say the following: "a resort for those who want silence, but are eager to have the full range of nightlife in the immediate vicinity." The entire coast of Protaras seems to be indented with beautiful cozy coves, which ensures the calmness of sea water. The resort is well-oriented for tourists with children: the hotel fund of Protaras has a large number of hotel-apartments that comfortably accommodate large families. The beaches of Protaras also deserve special attention along with the beaches of Ayia Napa. All of them are sandy, and the water is of a real azure color and is famous for its absolute transparency. The sea near the coast is quite shallow, which ensures safe swimming for children. The best beaches are located in the Fig Bay, whose name is given because of the nearby grove of fig trees.

As you can see from the description, each of the resorts in Cyprus is good in its own way. On any of them you can get a dose of adrenaline using the services of the offered water entertainments: it can be any water rides or scuba diving in order to get acquainted with the beauties of the underwater world.

And wonderful sandy beaches. Many of them have white sand. Tell us about the best of them. Where they are? Which resort in Cyprus has the most beautiful and comfortable beaches for families with children? It will be cool if you immediately recommend the hotel will be generally super!

The coast of this beautiful Cyprus beach is covered with light and soft sand and is suitable for families. It is worth considering that in the depths of the water the bottom is quite rocky: it is better to wear special shoes. Not far from the coast in the sea there is a small island where it will be convenient to sunbathe. You can wade to it, but beyond the end of the island, shallow water ends in the sea.

But it is here that you can feel the beauty of wildlife and take a break from the bustle of the city. Mostly locals and guests of neighboring respectable hotels sunbathe here.

The shore of the beach is always well-groomed and clean, but it will not be very convenient to lie on the sand: the grayish sand here is mixed with stones of different sizes. Boulders and pebbles are also found on the seabed: it is better to take special shoes for swimming. The descent into the water quickly gains depth, so swimming with children on this beach is not recommended, although there are practically no big waves.

For the convenience of vacationers, there are still umbrellas and sun loungers on the beach, and you can have a bite to eat in a tavern or cafe located above the beach. From the north, starting from the port, the line of the beach is covered with stones, and the descent into the water has a large slope. On the south side, the beaches are sandy, with gentle slopes. Families with children choose places in shallow water: the depth starts almost 10 meters from the shore. Windsurfers also like these places: further from the coast, the open sea has strong currents and indulges in big waves.

All equipped areas for vacationers are provided with sanitary areas with showers and changing rooms. Near the water you can find water rides and slides.

10. Kourion

Kourion Beach is located in the Episkopi Bay on the Akrotiri peninsula. Its center can be considered the Chris Blue Bech Cafe restaurant, around which the main amenities of the beach are equipped.
