Notable Morning Star Alumni. Dawn and sunset of the Morning Star

To become famous, you first need to start doing something and achieve in life. Many stars have been doing this since childhood. To become famous, you need to find your favorite thing, hobby and succeed in it.

You also do not need to hide your talents and skills, as they can be useful to other people. This is what celebrities used, which we will discuss in this article.

In March 1991, ORT ("Channel One") launched the first musical television talent competition in the history of Russian television - the program "Morning Star".

The host of the show, Yuri Nikolaev, opened many future celebrities to the country, but in 2003, the broadcast from the air was replaced by the reality show “Star Factory” ...

We remembered the musicians who started on the stage of the "Morning Star".

"Lyceum"

Anastasia Makarevich, Elena Perova and Isolda Ishkhanishvili shot in 1995 with the song "Autumn". 4 years before, the girls warmed up on the stage of the "Morning Star" with the ABBA song "One of Us".

Prokhor Chaliapin

In 1999, Prokhor took third place on Zvezda with the song Unreal Dream. The future wife of the young artist was then 43 years old ...

Ani Lorak

In March 1995, a certain Carolina had already applied for "Morning Star", so 17-year-old Carolina Kuek wrote her name backwards and sang the song in her native language under an unusual pseudonym.

Valeria

In 1992, Valeria won the Morning Star. 22 years old was the maximum age to enter the competition.

"Morning Star" rose in the spring of 1991 and shone for a long 12 years, inviting to children's musical holidays on Sundays. The first broadcast, which was released on March 7, became a kind of gift to all mothers and grandmothers for International Women's Day. And it was a real happiness - to admire the children, to admire their successes!

If the stars are lit, then someone needs it. The transfer has become not just necessary, but necessary. The country is on the eve of collapse, lawlessness and chaos reigns, the shelves in the stores are empty - “Chief, everything is gone!”, you can’t say otherwise. "Morning Star" became a straw for that time, which allowed you to be distracted, to rejoice, and to believe in the future. And so we with great pleasure dropped everything, sat down at the screens, followed the competitive program and selected young talented heroes for ourselves.
Everything in the program impressed me pleasantly - the scenery, the script, the rules of the competition, and, of course, the live sound. Well, what about the young contenders for victory? They simply touched the adults, delighted their peers when they tried on the role of pop performers in a way that was not at all childish!
Parents presented their children as participants, and they, in turn, dreamed of the stage and their finest hour. And if the statements of viewers about other programs could be divided into good and bad, then here there were no two opinions - everything was fine and great!
The contestants performed in song and dance genres in two age categories. It turned out 4 rounds, two participants took part in each. The performer with the most points advanced to the next stage. The competition was evaluated by a representative jury, which included popular artists. This fact inspired the participants and spurred them on, as if they took the baton from the older generation.
The program also included creative competitions of classical music performers. And for the first time, a competition of TV presenters among girls was held. So it's safe to say that Morning Star was a forge of pop and television shots.
Viewers wanted to see the winners of all the children. After all, they all tried, laid out to the fullest. But competition is competition. And it was so nice to see that even the losers were not left without attention - it was they who were given gifts.
We evaluated the expediency of a completely unique transfer a little later. When, literally before our eyes, the stars that caught fire at the children's show ascended to the pop Olympus. After all, it was on the "Morning Star" that we first met Valeria, and Ani Lorak, and Sergey Lazarev, and Anzhelika Varum. Perhaps, you cannot list all the celebrities for whom the children's music program has become a successful start.
It is impossible not to recall the organizer and ideological inspirer of the program, Yuri Nikolaev. It was his idea, his brainchild. He put his soul, energy, love into the program. Few people believed in the idea, as he stated in an interview. Moreover, they didn’t really want to give money for the transfer either, and Nikolaev had to take out a loan from a bank. This deserves great respect, and viewers of the 90s appreciated the deed of a real Master.
Even sitting at the TV screens, one could see how the presenter supports the participants with words, inspires with a smile. And although he treated young talents as adult participants, his parental experience for each contestant was visible to the naked eye.
A great idea was to involve contestants in the role of co-host of the same age. This gave the program a special charm. The very first was Masha Bogdanova. Next to her, the contestants felt much more confident. And, in general, the creative tandem of two generations of hosts created a cozy and indescribable atmosphere of the holiday on stage, which brought together good friends.
I am glad that after a break, "Morning Star with Yuri Nikolaev" again gathers admirers at the screens.

The purity of children's emotions, the unique spirit of competition, our own original format and a kaleidoscope of young talents - all this is about the author's program of one of the most popular presenters of the 90s, Yuri Nikolaev, "Morning Star".

Twelve years in the sky of television

Today we can already say with certainty that Morning Star is a unique project. If modern programs of such a competitive format are Russified analogues of original Western projects, then Yuri Nikolaev's Sunday morning show was entirely and completely a domestic product.

The beginning of the 90s was characterized by a clear crisis, both for domestic cinema and television. Not having received state support and not finding private sponsors, Yuri Nikolaev was forced to take a huge risk, taking all financial matters upon himself.

The first episode of the television competition was shown to viewers on March 7, 1991, and since then the program has been aired every Sunday morning. An understandable format and bright talented youth made the "Morning Star" popular. Every week, the audience was waiting for new stars, combining that unique spark of talent, combined with childish spontaneity and youthful naivety.

The rules of the competition were simple: two performers were presented in the nomination, and after the performance of both, the jury, consisting of four people, gave marks on a 5-point scale. The participant who scored the most points in total advanced, the less successful competitor was eliminated from the game.

There were two main genres in the competition program - vocal and dance. The competitors were divided into two age groups: the youngest - from 3 to 15 years old and the older - from 15 to 22. A little later, the folklore genre appeared, and it was the "Morning Star" that first introduced the audience to the magical folk voice of Pelageya. In the early years of the broadcast, a competition for young TV presenters was also held, but due to less entertainment, this nomination quickly outlived its usefulness.

For all 12 years, Yuri Nikolaev was the permanent host. Even at the beginning of his journey, it was decided to take some young talent as a second entertainer. At different times, Yu. Malinovskaya, M. Bogdanova, M. Skobeleva and others visited the role of co-host on the TV project “Morning Star”.

Instead of an afterword

By the beginning of the 2000s, the popularity of the TV project began to fall, neither the updated scenery nor the new competition rules helped. "Morning Star" changed its registration, moving from Channel One to TVC, and on November 16, 2003, the last release of the program took place.

Television was filled with new talent shows, more scandalous and attractive to the mass audience. However, it was "Morning Star" that first opened talented young people to the public, whose names would later thunder in the sky of Russian pop music. Among them are Ani Lorak, Sergey Lazarev, the Lyceum group, Valeria, Vlad Topalov, Tatu, Yulia Nachalova and many others.

Despite the fact that the program has not existed for more than 11 years, the author of the project, Yuri Nikolaev, still hopes to resurrect the Morning Star, seeing great educational and motivational value in the program. But while these plans remain plans ...

Yuri Nikolaev's program has existed for more than 10 years and during this time has ignited many Russian pop stars. Let's take a look at the brightest debuts.

Pelagia

Vadim Tarakanov / Legion-Media

One of the brightest participants in the Morning Star was the then very young singer Pelageya. The cassette on which the talented girl sings was submitted to the competition by the leader of the Kalinov Most group Dmitry Revyakin. “Her voice, of course, struck, but even more struck by the meaningfulness of singing,” he said.

As a result, 11-year-old Pelageya made it to the final and won. But this might not have been. Only recently in the documentary "Pelageya. Happiness loves silence,” Yuri Nikolaev admitted that he barely had time to stop the dishonest voting: “When I open the envelope with the name of the winner at home, I read a different surname, not Pelageya. I say: "Why not her?" It turned out that one colleague - a respected member of the jury - asked everyone to choose another girl, since it was her student. I asked all the members of the jury to once again separately write their opinion, so that everything was extremely honest, and then the majority voted for Pelageya.

“It was a miracle for me even the fact that I was in the top three finalists, my mother and I could not believe it! - admitted in the program "Honest Word". - Nadia Mikhalkova opens the envelope and says after a pause: "Ppppelageya." I remember it like it was yesterday... And I also remember this envelope with fabulous money for us - 1000 dollars. We lived on this money for a long time.”

Valeria

The television competition became fatal for the singer Valeria. In 1992, the 21-year-old artist performed in the most adult category. “I was very nervous,” the singer recalls. According to her, she, in principle, never liked to participate in competitions, but overcame herself. And not in vain! Her performance impressed the jury and she was chosen as the winner.

“In the early 90s, Yuri Nikolaev did a global thing,” says Nachalova. - It was all absolutely alive, real, a huge promotion. Children-participants were known, worried about them. The same "Factory" is not a live performance, and everyone sees it perfectly. And often not talented children from the outback, but the children of the director of some "Donetsk coal" got there. And they are not even ashamed to say so. Irina Ponarovskaya did not like such people very much. When the girls sang past the notes at the competition, she wrote down on a piece of paper - "married." And by the end of the auditions, there was a whole column of such "marriages."

Julia met Irina Ponarovskaya backstage at the Morning Star, and subsequently the famous singer was the young artist's mentor for a long time.

Group "Lyceum"

The debut of the Lyceum group also took place on the stage of the Morning Star. It was way back in 1991. Anastasia Makarevich, Elena Perova and Izolda Ishkhanishvili performed the song of the ABBA group "One of Us".

“We were 15 years old. There was no feeling that we would become some kind of popular group. Only a few years later the song "Autumn" appeared ... - recalls the ex-soloist of the Lyceum group Lena Perova. “And Yuri Alexandrovich is our ray of sunshine!”

Angelica Varum

“It was 1990 and my first stage performance as a solo singer. I can't remember anything but a terrible excitement. And there was also this habit of holding the microphone with both hands so as not to faint ... It was my debut and thanks to this the songs were distributed and became popular, - the singer said in the Tonight program. - Grandmother, as she found out that I was participating in some kind of competition, got worried, said: "Why do you need this?" But when I said that the host and author of this project was Yuri Nikolaev, she calmed down and blessed.

The very next year, the first album “Good Bye, my boy” was released, many of the songs from which became real hits.

Ani Lorak

The singer, when she was 17 years old, performed under her real name and surname - Carolina Kuek. Like many, she dreamed of entering the stage of the Morning Star, and in 1995 her dream came true.

“She came, she sang. I listened: "Fine, what's your name?" She replied, "Caroline." I say: “Stop, we already have one Carolina. I can’t take two Carolinas in one round,” said Yuri Nikolaev. “She walked away and after a while returned and said that she had figured out what to do, and read the name Carolina on the contrary, it turned out “Ani Lorak” - they left it like that.”

The singer performed a touching song in Ukrainian and won. “Then I was given a certificate for the purchase of shoes, and I purchased genuine leather shoes - it was an event!” – says the artist.

Sergey Lazarev

From early childhood, I watched this competition, dreaming of getting there, and Sergey Lazarev. When he was about 10 years old, he went to a bakery near the house and accidentally got into a conversation with the saleswoman. She casually told him that her daughter was the same age as him.

“Shows a photo, I see that the girl is on the stage of the Morning Star. I say: "How did the daughter get there?" It turned out that she was engaged in the Fidget team, the singer recalls. - I came there, passed the audition and they took me. At first, I just gave flowers to the Morning Star members, but after a while, when I was already 14 years old, I finally took the stage as a member.”

Vlad Topalov

Before all the heroes of our selection, Vlad Topalov entered the stage of the Morning Star. He was only five years old. Parents sent the boy to the musical group "Fidgets", in which he performed for quite a long time.

“I was a participant in the Morning Star program as a child. I passed it to the final, from the very first day. I was 5 years old. I can absolutely clearly, firmly, confidently state that this is an honest, fair competition for the live performance of songs by young artists. There is no politics here, there are no agreements of any kind. I have been friends with him since childhood, who, in fact, raised us all there. And I have never met a more honest and fair person in my life, ”the artist said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.

By the way, the first joint performance of Vlad Topalov and Sergey Lazarev with the song "Belle" from the musical "Notre Dame de Paris" took place at the "Morning Star" in 2001. Then there was no Smash !! group, they sang just like graduates of the Fidget group.

Zara

Many are sure that the singer Zara first appeared on the big stage in the Star Factory 6 project. However, it is not. She, like other heroes of our selection, began her career with the "Morning Star". In 1997, the 12-year-old singer took part in a television competition with the song "Juliet's Heart". Zara managed to get to the final, but the victory eventually went to another participant.

“How scared I was! – the artist admits. – Firstly, I have never been to Moscow before. Secondly, children from "Fidget" participated in the competition. But no matter what, I made it to the end. And when I later reviewed the shooting, I saw that while singing songs, I was looking at the floor all the time. And I thought no one noticed! That's when I realized that something had to be done about it. Studying at the Theater Academy certainly helped me. Now I feel free on the stage.”

“You have no idea how you changed my life! - said Chaliapin to Yuri Nikolaev in the program "In Our Time". – I was then 15 years old. And I, a simple provincial, suddenly ended up on the Morning Star program - it was a real fairy tale! And not only because I sang there and made it to the final. After that, I began to go with friends to all the concerts of the "Morning Star", imbued, and since that time I have a million photos with famous artists. And Yuri Alexandrovich treated us children kindly and didn’t kick anyone out, thanks to him for that!”

Contest Rules

The competition was attended by 2 performers. Participants were divided into 4 genres: vocal genre (age 3 to 15), dance genre (age 15 to 22), vocal genre (age 15 to 22) and dance genre (age 3 to 15). The performances of the participants were evaluated by a jury of four people. The assessment was carried out according to a 5-point system, then the leaders of these assessments calculated the amount of points received by the participants of the competition. The participant who received the highest amount went to the next round, the participant who scored the least number of points dropped out of the competition. If the participants scored the same amount of points, then the presenter asked the contestants to sing a verse from a song or dance a fragment from a dance in turn. Then he turned to the members of the jury to recalculate the scores of the participants. If, after recalculation, the sum of points is the same, then both participants passed to the next round. Also in 1991-1992, there was a competition for TV presenters among girls in the program. In this competition, the presenter Yuri Nikolaev chose the participants not for the role of his co-hosts, but for applicants who could work on television. First, the video clip of the participant was shown on the screens installed in the hall, and then the participant went on stage, accompanied by the presenter. Then a short conversation took place (usually the participants answered the questions of the presenter), after which the jury gave marks to each of the participants. There was also a competition "Freestyle," which was hosted by Maria Bogdanova. After the change of partner with Yuri Nikolaev, the competition was canceled. Also, the program, together with the New Names Foundation, held a competition for young performers of classical music, which was evaluated in the same way as pop music. Since 1993, the scenery has changed in the program. The screens disappeared, and instead of them a stave appeared. The rules of the competition have also changed. The participant who scored the most points approached the musical staff and, using notes with numbers, chose an opponent for himself, with whom he was to perform in the next round. Also, the children's vocal genre was divided into two categories: from 3 to 9 years old and from 9 to 15 years old, and a folklore competition was added.

Closing the transfer

In 2002, the general director of Channel One Konstantin Ernst, despite any persuasion by Yuri Nikolaev, took off the air "Morning Star", which, in his opinion, could prevent the viewer from perceiving the new project "Star Factory". The program moved to the TVC channel, where it aired for a year. The last episode of the program aired on August 3, 2003.

On October 3, 2016, the resumption of the program was announced and the competition website was opened now for admission to the semi-finals. It is necessary to collect the majority of votes of registered Internet users. New categories have been added: cinema, freestyle and family

Notes

An excerpt characterizing the Morning Star (TV show)

“Countess,” came the voice of the count from behind the door. - Are you awake? - Natasha jumped up barefoot, grabbed her shoes in her hands and ran into her room.
She could not sleep for a long time. She kept thinking about the fact that no one can understand everything that she understands and what is in her.
"Sonya?" she thought, looking at the sleeping, curled-up kitty with her huge braid. “No, where is she! She is virtuous. She fell in love with Nikolenka and doesn't want to know anything else. Mom doesn't understand. It's amazing how smart I am and how ... she's sweet," she continued, speaking to herself in the third person and imagining that some very smart, smartest and best man was talking about her ... "Everything, everything is in her , - continued this man, - she is unusually smart, sweet and then good, unusually good, dexterous - she swims, she rides excellently, and her voice! You can say, an amazing voice! She sang her favorite musical phrase from the Kherubinian opera, threw herself on the bed, laughed at the joyful thought that she was about to fall asleep, shouted to Dunyasha to put out the candle, and before Dunyasha had time to leave the room, she had already passed into another, even happier world of dreams. , where everything was just as easy and beautiful as in reality, but it was only better because it was different.

The next day, the countess, having invited Boris to her place, had a talk with him, and from that day he stopped visiting the Rostovs.

On the 31st of December, on the eve of the new year 1810, le reveillon [night dinner], there was a ball at the Catherine's nobleman. The ball was supposed to be the diplomatic corps and the sovereign.
On the Promenade des Anglais, the famous house of a nobleman shone with countless lights of illumination. At the illuminated entrance with red cloth stood the police, and not only the gendarmes, but the police chief at the entrance and dozens of police officers. The carriages drove off, and new ones kept coming up with red footmen and with footmen in feathers on their hats. Men in uniforms, stars and ribbons came out of the carriages; ladies in satin and ermine carefully descended the noisily laid steps, and hurriedly and soundlessly passed along the cloth of the entrance.
Almost every time a new carriage drove up, a whisper ran through the crowd and hats were taken off.
- Sovereign? ... No, minister ... prince ... envoy ... Can't you see the feathers? ... - said from the crowd. One of the crowd, dressed better than the others, seemed to know everyone, and called by name the noblest nobles of that time.
One-third of the guests had already arrived at this ball, and the Rostovs, who were supposed to be at this ball, were still hastily preparing to dress.
There were many rumors and preparations for this ball in the Rostov family, many fears that the invitation would not be received, the dress would not be ready, and everything would not work out as it should.
Together with the Rostovs, Marya Ignatievna Peronskaya, a friend and relative of the countess, a thin and yellow maid of honor of the old court, who led the provincial Rostovs in the highest St. Petersburg society, went to the ball.
At 10 pm, the Rostovs were supposed to call for the maid of honor to the Tauride Garden; and meanwhile it was already five minutes to ten, and the young ladies were still not dressed.
Natasha was going to the first big ball in her life. She got up that day at 8 o'clock in the morning and was in feverish anxiety and activity all day long. All her strength, from the very morning, was focused on ensuring that they all: she, mother, Sonya were dressed in the best possible way. Sonya and the countess vouched for her completely. The countess was supposed to be wearing a masaka velvet dress, they were wearing two white smoky dresses on pink, silk cases with roses in the corsage. The hair had to be combed a la grecque [Greek].
Everything essential had already been done: the legs, arms, neck, ears were already especially carefully, according to the ballroom, washed, perfumed and powdered; shod already were silk, fishnet stockings and white satin shoes with bows; the hair was almost finished. Sonya finished dressing, the countess too; but Natasha, who worked for everyone, fell behind. She was still sitting in front of the mirror in a peignoir draped over her thin shoulders. Sonya, already dressed, stood in the middle of the room and, pressing painfully with her little finger, pinned the last ribbon that squealed under the pin.
“Not like that, not like that, Sonya,” said Natasha, turning her head from her hair and grabbing her hair with her hands, which the maid who held them had not had time to let go. - Not so bow, come here. Sonya sat down. Natasha cut the ribbon differently.
“Excuse me, young lady, you can’t do this,” said the maid holding Natasha’s hair.
- Oh, my God, well after! That's it, Sonya.
- Are you coming soon? - I heard the voice of the countess, - it's already ten now.
- Now. - Are you ready, mom?
- Just pin the current.
“Don’t do it without me,” Natasha shouted: “you won’t be able to!”
- Yeah, ten.
It was decided to be at the ball at half past ten, and Natasha still had to get dressed and stop by the Tauride Garden.
Having finished her hair, Natasha, in a short skirt, from under which ballroom shoes were visible, and in her mother's blouse, ran up to Sonya, examined her and then ran to her mother. Turning her head, she pinned the current, and, barely having time to kiss her gray hair, she again ran to the girls who were hemming her skirt.
The case was behind Natasha's skirt, which was too long; it was hemmed by two girls, hastily biting the threads. A third, with pins in her lips and teeth, ran from the countess to Sonya; the fourth held the entire smoky dress on a high hand.
- Mavrusha, rather, dove!
