Instructions and a sample of filling out a migration card to Thailand. Migration card

For a holiday trip to Thailand, if the stay in the country is not more than thirty days, residents of Russia do not need a visa. This is very convenient, however, upon arrival in the country, our compatriots face one small problem - the Thailand migration card.

It would seem, what could be the problem here? The fact is that the Thailand migration card is printed in English, and among the Russians there are those who studied another language at school, or learned a foreign language “a little and somehow”, safely forgetting everything after graduation. Therefore, such a simple task as filling out a migration card becomes difficult.

Of course, the world is not without kind people who are ready to help, but it’s better to figure it out on your own, having carefully studied the sample of the Thailand migration card, located in a conspicuous place at the airport of arrival. You can see that this important document consists of two parts, one of which says - ARRIVAL CARD. This part is filled out immediately after arrival and is called the “arrival card”.

How to fill in the migration card will become clear if you pay attention to the fact that there are some more documents on the stand. The main assistant of the tourist will be the migration card of Thailand sample filling. We look at it and fill in each necessary column in English letters. The name and surname are written exactly as in the passport.

Nationality - RUSSIA, since we are all Russians. Next, we deal with gender - FEMALE - F, MALE - M

Gradually it becomes clear that filling out a migration card to Thailand is not too difficult. Everything is clear with the passport number, followed by the “Date of Birth” column, which means the date of birth, and the flight number of arrival. There was no need for a visa, so we leave the column empty. Now it remains to write the address where you will live in Thailand, and then put your signature. For the reverse side, the stand also has a migration card of Thailand, a sample filling, but you can not write anything there.

A sample Thailand migration card called DEPARTURE CARD is a departure card that will need to be completed before leaving the country. It is necessary to write in it exactly the same data as in the first card, only the flight number changes.

Filling rules

Filling out a migration card is a prerequisite for all foreign citizens who are going to visit the country. The document consists of two parts: the Arrival card section provides for entering information about a foreign citizen upon his arrival in the country, and the Departure card section contains data at the time of departure.

The columns assume the reflection of standard information: the last name and first name of the visitor, his passport data, date and place of birth, citizenship, flight number, country (city and airport) from which the citizen arrived.

All entries must be made neatly, legibly, in block letters, without errors, corrections and blots. Border guards do not check migration cards too meticulously, however, all items are subject to mandatory completion.

Losing your card while in the country is highly undesirable. The fact is that it may be required when checking into a hotel, exchanging currencies, checks, using credit cards, etc. The main thing is that without a migration card it is impossible to fly back, and at the airport you will have to fill everything out again.

In order to quickly pass through passport control, you must provide the representative of the authorities with a completed migration card and passport. The border guard keeps part of the Arrival card, and the section for departure is attached to the passport. On the way back, part of the Departure card is withdrawn.

Each MK has its own unique number.

What is an immigration card for?

Immigration Card is an important document for the border and police department.

This card will be required from you at the Immigration Bureau (Thai Immigration Bureau) if you receive any documents there, when opening a debit card or bank account, buying a car, visiting a hospital, etc.

But, if we talk about it briefly and do not go into details, then for you it is a document that gives you the right to stay in Thailand for up to 30 days without obtaining a visa, information is also entered into the police and border database according to this document . And, if something happens or happens, the information from this card will help in finding you.

Where to get an immigration card

Usually, immigration cards are handed out during the approach to Thailand on the plane, but there are times when this card may not be issued to you on the plane. The next place you are most likely to be able to get it will be the passage from the plane to passport control - usually there is a girl who distributes them.

If you did not receive a card before approaching the passport control of the airport, then in the room where the counters with border guards are located, at poles or special boards, these cards will lie.

Tip: to save time and not fuss too much filling out the card in line, prepare yourself a pen in advance and fill out the card as soon as possible on the plane or on the seats in the corridor, since there will be many tourists in the room where the border guards are located and it will not be possible to fill out the form there very comfortable.

Important about Thai Immigration Bureau Card

The migration card consists of two sheets:

    Arrival card (Arrival Card)

    departure sheet (Departure Card)

The arrival card will be taken from you by the border guard when crossing the border.

The Departure Card will be attached to your passport, having previously stamped it with a 30-day stay in the Kingdom. Be sure to check that the date on the stamp of the departure card from the country matches the date on the stamp in the passport.

What to do if you lost your immigration card

If you have lost your MK, then it is better for you, before leaving the country, to go to the immigration center of the province of Thailand where you are, inform its employees and resolve this issue there.

If you are planning to fly out of the country without an MK, you may encounter problems when going through passport control at the airport in Thailand (to the point that you may not be allowed on the flight).

Where to get

The most common way to arrive in Thailand for citizens of the Russian Federation is by plane. About an hour before landing at the airport of Bangkok or Phuket, flight attendants hand out migration cards to fill out.

At land border checkpoints, they are exactly the same, and while waiting for registration, you can fill it out at a special counter. There are also counters at airports; under the glass of the counter, there is usually a sample of filling out the Thai migration card. But it is more convenient to fill out the card without haste in the airliner's seat.

Filling rules

Let's consider all the points in order. In 2018, the card has not changed compared to previous years. General filling rules - the card is filled in in English in block letters, with a ballpoint pen, a cross is placed in the boxes for marks, as shown on the card itself.
Upon arrival, you must fill out the arrival form "ARRIVAL CARD".

  1. On the front side, fill in - Family name (Last name), First name and middle name (first name and patronymic), Nationality (nationality), in the boxes Male - Female put a gender mark. Man Woman.
  2. Next comes information about the identity card, the document required to cross the border - Passport No. Specify the serial number. On the same level as the passport is the Date of Birth. Attention! This is the date of birth, and not the date of issue of the passport and not the period of its validity.
  3. The following is the basis for entry into Thailand. Enter the valid Thai visa number from your passport Visa No. If you are arriving for up to 30 days and are eligible for visa free entry, this field is left blank.
    1. Address in Thailand - indicate the place of your stay, most often indicate the city and the name of the hotel, they will not require more from you.
      1. If you own your own accommodation, decide to stay with a friend or relative, you must write the exact address. It usually includes the city, street name, house number, Moo block and a five-digit postal code, the province and district can be omitted. An example is Soi Suksombun, 55 moo 8, Banglamung, 20150.
  4. On the right of the card, between the barcode and the field for official marks, there is a line where you need to indicate the flight number on which you arrived. Flight or Other Vehicle No.
    All of this is signed Signature. There is an inscription next to the signature - If you are not a resident of Thailand, please fill out the reverse side.

Let's move on to the other side. It is asked to indicate the occupation, annual income, for what purpose the non-resident arrived in Thailand, whether it is the first time he arrives (First trip on Thailand, yes - no). The mark of a group tourist visit immediately follows the question about the status of the flight (Traveling on group tour, yes - no).

At the very top, you need to put a mark on which flight you arrived in the country - a charter or a regular Charter - Schedule. The fact is that there is a rule that if you arrived on a regular flight, then you must leave Thailand on a regular, not a charter one.

It is not mandatory, it was adopted to protect the commercial interests of airlines, but be careful about this. If you are going to leave Thailand on a charter flight, then indicate your arrival - charter.

  1. Accommodation (accommodation) - a mark on where the foreigner is going to live, in a hotel, in a guest house, in rented or own apartments or in a friend's house.
  2. Purpose of visit (the purpose of the visit) - mark the choice of vacation or vacation (Holiday), training (Education), business, conference, and more. Pay attention to the mark transit.
  3. Yearly income (annual income). The Thai authorities are wary of people without certain occupations and stable income. You can choose not to disclose all your income, but it is better to put a mark where income is indicated and ignore no income!
    1. If a foreigner is a tourist in a group on a charter flight, there will be no questions to him about this.
    2. If a foreigner travels independently, his income is of interest to the migration authorities. The line Occupation (profession) is also directly related to this, usually they indicate “manager”, but if you wish, you can enter a real profession. There is a line in the upper right corner. More important information is below.
  4. Country of residence - indicates the place of residence according to the civil passport (conditionally - registration) city and country. From port of embarkation - it is indicated from which city the foreigner arrived, and next city / port of disembarkation - which next city he intends to visit. For example: if you arrive at Bangkok airport, you can indicate the next city is Pattaya or Koh Chang, but this is important in case of transit through Thailand and is not important in other cases. 2018 was the year in which cases of transit through hospitable Thailand became commonplace.

Arrival stamp

When all the lines are filled in, a foreign tourist with a passport and visa goes to the passport border control desk, where an arrival stamp is affixed to him. Usually, there are no mistakes, but border guards are people too, so it's better to check the deadlines entered in the stamp. Either it is 30 days, or the period specified in the visa.

Filling out the departure form

The migration card consists of two parts. The "DEPARTURE CARD" part (departure form) has the same barcode and number. It can be filled out later, but must be kept with your passport. The Departure Card is just as important in verifying the legitimacy of your stay in the Kingdom of Siam as the stamp in your passport. It is also stamped with the date.

Filling in all the lines, by analogy with the arrival form, is not difficult. Only the Surname, First Name, Patronymic, date of birth, citizenship and passport number are entered there. When leaving the kingdom, the card is handed over at the border control, and a departure stamp is put in the passport. Usually, this procedure does not raise any questions from the border guards.

Some nuances when filling out migration cards and using them

The conditions for a visa-free stay in the Kingdom of Thailand state that a tourist must have a return ticket to their homeland or to a third country. The same requirements apply for tourist visas. That is why, in the departure card there is a line Flight ore Other Vehicle No, it must be filled in upon arrival, this will free you from unnecessary questions. The dates are indicated in the European format, from the birth of Christ, but in banks and the police, the date is indicated from the day of the death of Buddha.

Some countries do not have departure cards. Here it is stored in the passport and can come in handy in circumstances that are completely unexpected for a tourist. For example, when trying to open an account in a Thai bank, when buying and registering a car or motorbike, when passing an exam for the right to drive a vehicle.

Attention to filling out documents and respect for officials at border control is a guarantee of a wonderful holiday in the land of smiles.

Where are migration cards issued?

There is no need to receive it in advance in Russia in a special organization or print it yourself; they are issued on airplanes by flight attendants or airport employees upon arrival in Thailand. At the airport, a citizen can get such a form at the counter with the inscription Immigration.

If everything went according to routine, without unnecessary problems, and you received the card on the plane, then most often employees give some instructions on how to fill it out. You can fill out the form right during the flight. The same assistance can, of course, be obtained from the airport staff. At the counter, anyone can ask for a sample filling, but it will not be superfluous to familiarize yourself with it in advance so that the procedure does not take much time.

What does a migration card look like?

This form consists of two parts, or rather, it will be said that there are two cards in general. And you need to fill both at once.

  1. Arrival card- arrival in the country;
  2. Departure card- Departure from the country.

Accordingly, the first mark is affixed upon arrival, the second before departure from the country. Before leaving Thailand, a citizen will have to present this card - it remains with the border control officers, so it is better not to lose it, because in case of loss, not the most pleasant story can happen.

The airport employees immediately keep the first card, but the second one remains in the hands of the citizen until he reappears at the border of the country in order to go home. The second card, the departure card, is attached to the passport, so most likely there should be no problems with its safety.

Features of filling out forms

As mentioned earlier, the form itself is written in English, respectively, and it will have to be filled out in the same language. Moreover, it is important to consider that all information must be entered in block letters.

It will not be superfluous to take care in advance that you have a pen with you, with black or blue ink, since if you have to fill it out not on board the aircraft (where, most likely, there will be no problems with this), but at the airport, then this can become an unpleasant problem. Completely solvable, but time-consuming, which will become a nuisance, especially after a long flight.

In those fields where the squares are located, in which it is necessary to put a mark, it is necessary to put crosses, and not checkmarks or other symbols. Such a trifle can be accidentally overlooked, but such errors will lead to the fact that you will have to fill out the forms again.

In the "date of birth" field, you should also not make small mistakes, it fills in the day-month-year example. For example, 02-11-1984.

And in the field Signature (signature) the signature of the citizen in whose name the card is filled out is put, that is, the personal signature of the citizen in the form in which it exists in all his documents (for example, in a document identifying a person - in a passport).

The arrival card is filled out on both sides, but the second card, the departure card, is only on one side, the second side will be filled in by the citizen when he is about to leave Thailand.

These are general rules that you should pay attention to. In general, it will not be superfluous to download a sample form in advance and fill it out, such a migration card will not be accepted at the airport in Thailand, since each form has its own identification number. However, such preparation will significantly reduce the time that will have to be spent on filling in and save you from mistakes made through inattention - all that remains is to write off the data from your sample.

Instructions for filling out the Thai migration card

It is worth considering each field to fill in a separate order. First, the front side of the arrival card is filled in:

  • family name and first name- the name and surname of the citizen are recorded in block letters of the Latin alphabet in the form in which they are entered in the passport;
  • Date of Birth- this field was mentioned above, this is the date of birth of the person for whom the card is filled out accordingly;
  • Nationality- citizenship;
  • Passport No.- this field indicates the number of the passport;
  • Visa No.- the number of the visa is indicated. However, you can visit Thailand without issuing a visa to this state, for a period of 30 days for residents of Russia and 15 days for residents of the CIS countries. In the event that a visa is not issued, the field remains blank;
  • Flight or other Venicle No.- flight number, this information can be found on the boarding pass, but it is better, if possible, to check with the stewardess;
  • Address in Thailand- residential address. Nobody will check this information, so you can specify the name of any real-life hotel, you can also indicate the address of relatives or friends, if the purpose of the trip is to visit them.

On the reverse side of the first card, you need to fill out a small questionnaire, as mentioned above, it is the checkboxes that are put in the boxes, and no other signs.

  1. Type of flight - t flight ip. There are two answer options:
    • Chartered (charter)
    • Schedule (regular).

  3. Traveling group tour- this field indicates whether the departure is made in a group tour or not, there are also two options. In the event that the departure is made only by a citizen and his family (for example, on a ticket), then the option no (“no”) is indicated.
  4. Accommodation- accommodation. If the trip is made on a tour, then a cross is placed near the box Hotel (“Hotel”) Answers: Hotel (hotel), Friend's Home (friends' house), Youth Hostel (youth hostel), Apartment (apartments), Guest House (small private hotel ), Other (other).
  5. Purpose of visit- purpose of the visit. There are several possible answers: Holiday (vacation), Meeting (meeting), Business (business), Incentive (departure as an encouragement, usually from the employer), Education (training), Convention (conference), Employment (employment), Exhibitions (exhibition), Transit (travel in transit, that is, a citizen does not imply a long stay in the country, Thailand in this case is only a temporary stop), Others (other)
  6. Yearly income- annual income. This column will also offer several options: up to 20 thousand or more, or No Income (no income);
  7. Occupation- the profession of the citizen who fills out the questionnaire is indicated. If this person does not have a professional qualification, then the field is left blank;
  8. City/State residence- the actual address, only the city is indicated;
  9. country residence- and this field is intended to indicate the country in which the citizen lives, most often, it coincides with the one whose citizenship is indicated in the internal passport;
  10. From/Port of embarkation- the place from which the departure or departure was made, namely the city;
  11. Next city/Port of destination — place of subsequent stay - city or port.

If you have difficulty filling in some fields, you should leave them blank and ask a flight attendant or airport employee for help.

So, filling out a migration card is not at all difficult, you just need to be careful.

Why you need a migration card and why you can't lose it

A migration card is necessary for customs officers - your account in the state. Before passing customs control, the migration card must be completely filled out. It is necessary to write only truthful, reliable information in it.

Provided that all points of the migration card are correctly filled out, the customs officer will put a mark there. By the way, the same stamp will show off on the passport page.

It is important to keep the migration card until the return crossing of the border. At the time of departure, the customs officer will check the document, verify the length of stay, and make sure that your stay in the country is “clean”. If everything is in order, they will put a departure stamp in your passport.

Ninety-two flights departed Bangkok's Dong Mueang airport on Saturday with a delay of 20 minutes to three hours when the sky over the airport was closed for a military airshow to mark Children's Day.

“Many airlines failed to answer how long flights would be delayed, this affected thousands of passengers!” Thais are indignant on social networks.

People were also interested in why it was not announced in advance that the flights would be delayed? How do people plan their trip?

The show was scheduled from 8am through 3pm for a total of 4 shows over that time period, according to state media.
Thailand information.

A military aviation show is held every year on Children's Day, so take note, dear tourists.

Thailand has recently become a popular resort, a place to relax, live and work. Many citizens of the Russian Federation visit this exotic country, especially since the tourist orientation of the kingdom's economy contributes to the unimpeded passage of foreigners to its territory. For Russians, the period of visa-free stay in Thailand is up to 30 calendar days.

The immigration authorities of Thailand, however, monitor and control the flow of tourists. Registration of migrants is carried out by means of their registration upon entry and exit. Each visitor to the country, crossing the border of the kingdom, fills out a migration card. The problem is small, but not for everyone. The fact is that the document is printed in English. In fact, there is nothing difficult, especially for tourists who have at least some understanding of the language. And for those who do not know English, our instructions on how to fill out the Thailand migration card form will help.

The main parts of the migration map of Thailand

Thailand migration card consists of 2 parts:

  • ArrivalCard, which translates as an arrival card;
  • DepatureCard - departure card.

The card (both of its parts) must be filled in block letters and must be in Latin letters (in English). The data must be accurately transferred from the foreign passport and tickets.

The main columns of the migration map of Thailand:

  • Family name - the last name of the tourist;
  • First name and Middle name - first name and “middle name”, only the data entered in the foreign passport is indicated, that is, the name is entered, but the patronymic is not, since the second or middle name is not a patronymic;
  • Flight or other vehicle № - number of the flight or other transport on which the border is crossed;
  • Nationality - state of citizenship;
  • Male-Female - gender male-female;
  • Passport № - the number of the passport by which the entry is made;
  • Date of birth - date of birth, which is indicated in the format dd-mm-yyyy;
  • Visa number - visa number;
  • Address in Thailand - the address of residence in the Kingdom of Thailand, it is enough to indicate the name of the hotel or city;
  • Signature - a signature corresponding to the one in the foreign passport.

As a rule, when filling out the card, tourists are offered a sample, the help of flight attendants or border guards. A sample of a correctly completed migration document can also be viewed below. You can even print it out or download it to your phone to make it easier for you to fill out the form while traveling.

The above items are mandatory. In addition to them, the document provides for a voluntary survey. The figure below shows the migration card (Thailand) of the 2019 sample on the reverse side.

On it, under the inscription Please mark, a questionnaire is offered. If you wish, you can leave your answers by marking the appropriate ones on the map. The questions on the left side of the survey are:

  • What type of flight are you traveling on? (charter or scheduled);
  • Is it your first time in Thailand? (Yes or no);
  • Is it a group trip? (Yes or no);
  • Planned place of residence (hotel, hostel, guest house, friends' houses, apartment, other option).

In the right column you can note:

  • Purpose of the visit (holidays/leisure, business, study, work, transit travel, etc.);
  • Annual income.

Below is a sample of how to fill out the card correctly, with detailed explanations:

All other points of the migration document are not filled out. They are intended for official marks of the border service of the kingdom.

How the migration card is used

Both parts of the completed card are submitted when passing through passport control at the airport of arrival along with a foreign passport. One part - the arrival card - remains with the border guards, and the data on its basis is entered into the database.

The second part of the card - the departure card - will be put into the passport by the border guard officer or handed over to the tourist. It will be needed for unhindered exit from the country. It will determine whether the period of visa-free stay in the country has expired, as well as other important information.

When leaving, migrants present a departure card along with their passport. You should be very careful and careful with this document. Losing it can turn into serious trouble. At least it will need to be restored, which will take a lot of time and effort. In the meantime, this slow process will continue, the subject simply will not be able to leave the country. Therefore, it is important not only to fill out the document correctly, but also to be able to save it until the end of the trip.

By the way, apparently, for the sake of safety and due to the repeated loss of an exit document, Thai border guards often attach the departure card to the passport with a stapler.

Experienced travelers recommend keeping important documents such as a passport and migration card in a hotel safe or other safe place. carrying them with you can cause loss or theft. Keep only a copy of your passport, medical policy and a small amount of money with you.
