Closing ceremony of the World Youth Festival. Russia will be the main theme of the final day of the festival of youth and students in Sochi

“Penguins of the Pen” is a three-day marathon, during which 40 youth editorial offices searched for information, made acquaintances, wrote texts, interviewed, filmed photo and video reports, filled accounts on social networks and “hunted” for exclusive information.

The second day of the festival was devoted to gaining new knowledge: master classes were held for the teams and their leaders. The lecturers were representatives of various media, such as Channel One, Rossiya-24, Russia Today, Kino Mail.ru, Radio Komsomolskaya Pravda, magazines I Like Today, Journalist, IGUMO teachers, IPCC, members of the Union of Journalists of Russia and the Union of Journalists of the Moscow Region.

“I will never forget the emotions that I experienced here. This is where I was able to open up. I was doing what I love and I loved it. Isn't this happiness? (Irina Ovdenko, captain of the LiG team, Elektrostal). On the last day of the festival, the editors completed their work and the jury members began to evaluate the works. At 18:00, a solemn closing ceremony took place, at which prizes were awarded to the winners and participants of the festival.

From year to year the festival "Penguins of the Pen" expands its geography. This time the participants came from Kaluga, Vereshchagino and Chernushka (Perm Territory), Novouralsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Volgograd, St. Petersburg, Moscow and the cities of the Moscow region (Serpukhov, Elektrostal, Zelenograd, Korolev). We are glad that we provide an opportunity for young journalists to demonstrate their abilities, gain knowledge and experience, and communicate with colleagues from different parts of the country.

Keds. Jeans. Rock'n'roll. All this has firmly become fashionable during the Moscow festival. Badminton has also become popular. For this game, only a little was needed - a pair of rackets and a shuttlecock - it was then made from feathers. This shuttlecock soared into the Moscow sky. As well as flocks of pigeons.

"Love and pigeons". Vladimir Menshov will shoot a film with this name much later. But "Love and Doves" is also about the Festival of Youth and Students in 1957, too.

Then 40,000 pigeons were released in Luzhniki, Oleg Kuznetsov recalls. Now he is deputy chairman of the Moscow club of pigeon breeders, and in 1957 - secretary of the Komsomol of the shop.

He attended both the opening and closing of the festival. So I remember those feelings very well: brotherhood, acquaintance with foreign students, youth from all over the world, - he says.

Pablo Picasso created the drawing of the Dove of Peace even before the Moscow Festival. But it was in the Soviet capital that the festival (video about its history -) had another symbol - chamomile. Kuznetsov also participated in that competition:

Fedya Fedyunin worked as a turner in our shop. So he decided to take part in the development of the emblem. The boys and I helped him. They came up with a globe with ascending rays, like from the sun. As a result, the third prize was awarded for this project. Awarded! We received 100 rubles and a radiogram.

Chamomile was invented by the artist Konstantin Kuzginov. He worked on sketches in the country, where flowers were in full bloom. The core of the chamomile reminded him of the globe, and the petals of the five continents.

Chamomile is a popular plant, says Aleksey Reteyum, director of the Apothecary Garden in Moscow. - At least dozens of species grow on almost all continents. In addition, daisies are called not only pure chamomile, but also several genera of other composite plants. It's almost a collective name. And even the plant itself, which appears in the minds of people with the word chamomile, is actually a nivyanik.

And he (or she) did not accidentally become a symbol, because, according to Reteyum, such a flower suggests a closer relationship between people.

A lot has also been said about close relations with the guests of the Moscow festival. It is no coincidence that even a stable expression appeared in those years - "children of the festival". It is generally accepted that for the first time the mass appearance of Russian-mestizos and Russian-mulattoes was caused precisely by the 1957 festival.

The festival was held in Moscow, and the favorite song was - about evenings near Moscow. True, the song of Vasily Solovyov-Sedoy and Mikhail Matusovsky was born in Moscow lanes. On one of the houses in Sivtsevo Vrazhka there is even a memorial plaque that reminds of "these summer evenings near Moscow."

Vladimir Bolnykh - restorer of gramophones. Here he starts a record with the same song.

The song "Moscow Evenings", as far as I know, won the first prize at the festival, - he says. - The song is beautiful. She liked both the contestants and the audience. This is the secret of her success. That festival influenced the development of fashion in the Soviet Union, life. Then the door was opened. People began to strive for something, learn something new, copy something, - says Vladimir.

Sculptural composition "Peace to the world!" on Pirogovskaya street - not a copy.

Sculptor Savitsky created it specifically for the festival. And initially it consisted of three figures.

Two athletes - an Asian and an African - survived. But the relationship with a European girl - there was also a third figure, a woman - ended up upset. Europe was not kidnapped, it simply could not stand it and "left".

Renewed Europe did not return here even after 60 years - to the new festival. Apparently, we will have to wait for the Thaw.

Thousands of participants and volunteers in bright uniforms with the symbols of the festival gather at the main stage of the Olympic Park for the main event of the week - the show "Russia". Behind the scenes - final preparations: dancers straighten kokoshniks and weave ribbons into braids, vocalists warm up the bundles before performing national motives. Among the spectators there are especially many foreigners who are in obvious impatience. No wonder, because today is their chance to see the whole multinational flavor of the largest country in the world on one stage.

In Cuba, we are used to believing that in the traditions of Russians - ditties, balalaika and red and white sundresses, - Claudia Martinez Duran shares her expectations. – But the Russian guys I met during the festival say that this is only a small part of your culture. And the customs of the inhabitants of Siberia or the Caucasus are completely different. It's hard to believe, but we'll see!

To the thunderous applause of the audience, the show of the peoples of Russia opens with a traditional Russian dance. To the round dances against the backdrop of electronic decorations with Khokhloma painting, the guests begin to dance, and they begin to sing along to simple folk songs of the Southern District. The virtuoso playing on the Tuvan stringed instrument ikile literally plunges the audience into a trance. The guests especially like the Armenian duduk in combination with drum rock parts: young people are able to make everything modern.

I have heard this kind of music before, but I could never even imagine that it is part of Russian culture, - shares his impressions Islam Ilsadek from Egypt. - Everything is completely different, unlike. And at the same time, the inhabitants of your country manage to live in peace and harmony, to be a single united nation. Trust me, it's worth a lot.

The concert of cultures and peoples of hospitable Russia is replaced by performances of foreign pop and show business stars. Nate James sends his fiery greetings from the UK, igniting the audience with melodic blues. In the background, meanwhile, dancers in the national costumes of the countries participating in the festival, presented at Fashion Week in Sochi, defile. The participant of the show "Voice" and the representative of Bulgaria at Eurovision 2017 Christian Kostov strikes the hearts of girls with his voice. And no one can contain the storm of emotions from the music of the Dutch performer Rochelle.

We have made this festival successful together with you, - announces the first deputy head of the presidential administration of Russia, the head of the Russian organizing committee of the festival, Sergei Kiriyenko. - And most importantly, it turned out alive and real. Thanks to all participants from Russia for hospitality, warmth and kindness towards our foreign guests. The sports and cultural program were held at an excellent level. And let every foreigner remember that real friends are waiting for him in Russia.

But the closing of such a grandiose event should justify all the most sophisticated expectations. Therefore, the culmination of the evening is a mass action, for which the participants have been preparing throughout the week. At the main stage, to the anthem of the festival performed by Alexei Vorobyov, several thousand participants simultaneously perform the main dance of the evening - "Love is all that matters." A burst of energy, loud ovations and applause do not subside for a very long time. And exactly at midnight, festive fireworks in the sky above the Olympic Park mean: The World Festival of Youth and Students is over.

DIRECT SPEECH

Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation:

The festival week in Sochi is coming to an end. But I am sure that it has benefited 30,000 young people who have come to our country from all over the world. Thanks for trusting us. I congratulate everyone who took an active part in the events of the festival. I know that absolutely unusual energy reigned here. This is the energy of the young. I am sure that when you leave Russia, you leave a piece of your heart here. We believe in you. The future starts here and now.

Veniamin Kondratiev, Head of Administration of the Krasnodar Territory:

Let our holiday end today, I hope you will continue to communicate with each other for many, many decades to come. XIX World Festival of Youth and Students was the best and most numerous in its history. Yes, we speak different languages, we have different skin colors and religions. But it is this dissimilarity, this diversity that makes our world more beautiful.

Russia hosts the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students and opens its doors to young people from all over the world! The first youth festival was held in our country, in Moscow, in 1957. More than 20,000 young people from 150 countries aged 18 to 35 will participate in the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students in 2017. Young leaders from various fields will gather at one site: representatives of youth public organizations, young journalists, creative and sports youth, young engineers and IT specialists, leaders of youth organizations of political parties, young entrepreneurs, leaders of student self-government, young scientists and university professors, and also compatriots and foreigners who study Russian and are interested in Russian culture.
