The BMW X6 is the flagship premium crossover produced by the Bavarian concern BMW since 2008. The car is built on the platform of the classic BMW X5 SUV. Both models differ mainly in design. For example, the BMW X6 has a dynamic coupe design and features a sloping rear roof. Car sales started in 2008. The car for the Russian market is produced in Kaliningrad. In 2014, production of the second generation BMW X6 started.

BMW X6 owner reviews

  • Vadim, Kirovsk. In 2018, I switched from a Chevrolet Niva to a used 2008 BMW X6 as standard. For four months I drove 40 thousand km, the total mileage is 150 thousand km. The car is equipped with an automatic and a three-liter engine, equipment xDrive35i. Fuel consumption of 13 liters in the city, on the highway in the region of 8 liters.
  • Marina, Pyatigorsk. Surprisingly quickly, I got used to the dimensions of this crossover, which I liked for its gloomy design, advanced options, dynamics and economy. Also, the car is well adapted to harsh climatic conditions and bad roads. I have a 2013 X6, a first generation car, with a hybrid engine based on a 407-horsepower internal combustion engine. Fuel consumption in the city is about 11 liters.
  • Alexander, Krasnoyarsk. I am the owner of a BMW X6 F16 SUV - a second-generation car, equipped with xDrive35i Luxury. The three-liter petrol engine produces 306 horses and works with a machine gun, which is fast and reveals the potential of the turbo engine well. As a result, we have acceleration to hundreds within 7 seconds, and the maximum speed reaches 250 km / h. Fuel consumption is only 12 liters per 100 km - for this, of course, the Bavarians have great respect. The car has been in operation since 2015, now there are 70 thousand km on the odometer, I drive quietly and slowly around the city, but on the highway you can come off in full. I want to try out the Crimean bridge on this wheelbarrow.
  • Kirill, Tyumen. This is the best sports crossover I've ever owned. Prior to that, I went to the first generation Porsche Cayenne, which constantly rained down. BMW X6 is a more reliable car that does not require unplanned costs. He has an economical three-liter diesel engine, which requires 8-10 liters in urban driving. I have the 2010 version.
  • Igor, Murmansk. I am the owner of a BMW X6 in a white body. Machine of the second generation, in the middle configuration xDrive35i Luxury. A three-liter gasoline engine is ideal for this crossover, it accelerates it in 7 seconds to the first hundred, and gasoline consumption does not exceed 7 liters per 100 km.
  • Oleg, Chelyabinsk. I have a second generation BMW X6, in the back of an F16. A stylish and dynamic car, with its design confirming that this is an unusual crossover. He has a good cross, despite the inclinations of the sport. On the track, this BMW almost does not heel at all - due to the hard suspension settings. At high speeds, the road keeps perfectly and does not sway. Fuel consumption within 8 liters. I have a xDrive40d M Sport package with a three-liter diesel engine for 313 horses. Acceleration to hundreds in six seconds.
  • Dmitry, St. Petersburg. I'm happy with the car. I saved up for a car for a long time, because I wanted the X6. In my opinion, the cheaper X5 is already a bit old, everyone is already tired of its design - the Germans do the same thing, but at a higher price. I won't say the same about the X6. I have a first generation car, 2009 version, xDrive35i base. The three-liter gasoline engine is aggregated with a machine gun that sets you up for a fast ride, and without any delay. Acceleration to 100 km / h in 7 seconds - this is saying something, and the maximum speed is around 250 km / h. You can even drive even faster if it were not for the limiter. Fuel consumption is 13 liters per 100 km.
  • Alexey, Primorsky Territory. This car has both sport, and cross-country ability, and comfort. BMW X6 is a universal car for all needs. Actually, that's why I decided to take a fast crossover instead of the Mazda 6 MPS. Machine 2010, with a gasoline 407-horsepower engine. This top-end engine consumes around 18 l / 100 km.
  • Vitaly, Ryazan. Drove 80 thousand km on the BMW X6. Machine 2008, ordered from Germany. Five years later, the crossover was sold, although I didn’t want it - I just needed money. But on the other hand, the car required a lot of fuel and scheduled maintenance costs. In short, the X6M xDrive 50i was too tough for me. The car ate in the city under 20 liters ...
  • David, Novosibirsk. I bought a car for myself, but two years later I had a wife who immediately laid eyes on this handsome man. No wonder, because I have an X6 with a red body, red calipers, and even in the ActiveHybrid configuration with a 407 horsepower hybrid engine. Fuel consumption is only 11 liters per 100 km, and this is with a 400-horsepower engine. Outside the city generally no more than 10 liters. In short, he gave the car to his wife on March 8, she sobbed with happiness. And I myself moved back to the VW Passat 2002.
  • Timur, Leningrad region. I can say I'm lucky. Relatives left the car and went abroad, they have not come for more than two years. During this time, I dashed off 70 thousand km on the BMW X6. I have a complete set of 2011, xDrive40d version, with a three-liter diesel engine with 306 forces. Fuel consumption 9 liters in the city. I'm thinking of buying a car.
  • Alexander, Stavropol Territory. The BMW X6 is a powerful car that is quite expensive in the long run. I say this from my own experience, as I have been driving this crossover since 2009. For 9 years of use, the car has eaten a lot of money, and every year it requires more and more, so I do not advise buying a used car of this class. But I'm already used to the X6. Moreover, I liked the economical 3-liter diesel engine. It consumes 10 liters per 100 km in the city.

Domestic roads are filled with more and more foreign cars, in particular BMW - which is not surprising, because this company is famous for its quality and reliability. But when buying a car, you should pay attention not only to reviews about the car, but to more real technical characteristics, such as BMW X6 fuel consumption.

Features of the BMW X6

This car model began to be produced in 2008, and received its own special status due to the shape of the body - a sports coupe for outdoor activities. The BMW X6 inherited good technical characteristics from the standard crossover, and an elegant appearance from the coupe. The fuel consumption of the BMW X6 is closer to SUVs, which have a 3-liter fuel tank for diesel engines and 4.4 for gasoline engines. Fuel consumption can exceed 10 liters per 100 km.

Engine Consumption (route) Consumption (city) Consumption (combined cycle)
xDrive35i (3.0i, petrol) 4x4 7 l/100 km 11.4 l/100 km 8.4 l/100 km

xDrive50i (4.4i, petrol) 4x4

7.8 l/100 km 13.1 l/100 km 9.7 l/100 km

xDrive30d (3.0d, diesel) 4x4

5.6 l/100 km 6.8 l/100 km 6 l/100 km

xDrive40d (3.0d, diesel) 4x4

5.8 l/100 km 7.1 l/100 km 6.3 l/100 km

M50d (3.0d, diesel) 4x4

6.3 l/100 km 7.2 l/100 km 6.6 l/100 km

But, of course, the actual fuel consumption of the BMW X6 per 100 km may be somewhat higher than the official figures. This is due to the peculiarity of our climate and roads, since foreign manufacturers are mainly guided by the conditions of their country.

The fuel consumption of the BMW X6 is also affected not only by roads, but also by other technical characteristics, such as engine type.. The newer the model, the more advanced it is, and, accordingly, more economical. You can save fuel costs on a BMW X6 by following a few simple rules.

Data Comparison

Official sites claim that the average fuel consumption of the BMW X6 per 100 km is 10.1 liters in a mixed driving mode. It may be true abroad, but in in our country, the real fuel consumption of the BMW X6 per 100 km is slightly higher:

  • 14.7 liters in summer;
  • 15.8 liters in winter.

The fuel consumption of a BMW car depends on many factors. The first is air temperature. Any experienced car owner will tell you that you need more gas in winter because you need to warm up the car before you start driving. If this detail is ignored, riding may be unsafe and damage to some parts may occur.

If you are a fan of sharp starts and sudden braking, then you will also have to fork out extra liters of gasoline. All those stunts and tight turns require extra fuel.

Such details justify the high fuel consumption of the BMW X6 in the city - up to 16 liters in summer, and 19 in winter. Frequent stops, turns, slowdowns and idling force you to refuel more often.

BMW X6 gasoline consumption on the highway is much lower, since there is no need to stop and change speed. Smooth driving contributes to savings. BMW, like other cars, on the track requires a much smaller amount of fuel.

How to reduce fuel consumption

Fuel consumption on the BMW X6 can be reduced, for this you should know a few rules that are easy to follow:

  • as mentioned above, you should not brake sharply or start, as this requires additional fuel consumption;
  • try to avoid idling the motor;
  • in winter, leave your car in more or less warm places, this will allow you to spend less time warming up the engine, and, as a result, fuel consumption will decrease;
  • monitor the condition of your car - any malfunctions require additional consumption of gasoline or diesel;
  • timely undergo technical inspection and replace obsolete or worn parts;
  • use only high-quality fuel, it is spent much more economically than cheap fakes.

As you can see, it’s not at all difficult to drive an SUV so that you don’t pay double the price later. If you are a responsible car owner, then BMW X6 fuel consumption will not cause you any questions or complaints. You just need to carefully and responsibly treat your transport, and then a full tank will last you for a longer period.

Content

The premium crossover BMW X6 went on sale at the end of 2008 and was announced by the company's marketers not as a classic crossover - it was given a unique concept of "sports coupe for outdoor activities." The reason for such an unconventional classification for the Bavarian manufacturer was that the BMW X6 is much closer in its body to a coupe than to classic SUVs, but inherited from them four-wheel drive with high ground clearance, full-size rims and a wide range of powerful turbocharged and bi-turbo diesel and gasoline engines. volume of 3.0 and 4.4 liters. Since 2014, a new version in the back of the F16 has gone on sale.

BMW X6 petrol

With gasoline engines, the BMW X6 is offered in three different versions: a 3.0-liter in-line bi-turbo engine, as well as a 4.4-liter turbocharged V-shaped eight. There is also a "charged" version of the xDrive50i, which is equipped with a 4.4 V8 Twin Turbo engine that develops 555 hp. Such a number of "horses" under the hood allows the crossover to gain a hundred in just 4.7 seconds.

Fuel consumption rate per 100 km BMW X6 gasoline

  • Maxim, Volgograd. Model 2014 - I do not see any shortcomings at all. Powerful, torquey, on the highway gives odds even to sports cars. The 3-liter engine is enough for the eyes, and the Boomer machine is beyond praise. On the highway, according to the on-board computer, I have a consumption of about 9 liters, more in the city - up to 16.
  • Olga, Lipetsk. I don't like the car. We bought it back in 2009 - we literally drove for a year and a half, and then literally settled in the service. There are always problems popping up! Where is the vaunted German quality? The only thing I’m satisfied with is fuel consumption, I get about 12 liters per hundred on average.
  • Sergey, Saratov. Before the X6, I had a Tuareg - I changed it to a BMW just because Volz's consumption is high, and he is tight on the track. "Six" on the contrary, dynamic and playful. The consumption of a 4.4-liter engine is of course rather big - it comes out about 11-12 liters outside the city, and all 20 in the city. Well, on the other hand, this is a beast - I squeeze a hundred in less than 6 seconds.
  • Boris, Perm. I bought a BMW X6 in 2011 and sold it a year later. At first there were problems with the front suspension, then with the steering, and on the little things, in general, something constantly broke. Tired and took a Prado. As for consumption, the city is about 20-21 liters (4.4 l engine). On the track, two times less - about 12 liters on the instruments.
  • Rustem, Makhachkala. I took a used X6 in 2008, a 3.0 engine and an automatic transmission. Fire, not a car. I do any car with no problems at all. Consumption is certainly decent - with my driving style, I get about 17 liters in the city, on the highway - a dozen, or even 12 liters. But I don’t worry at all - when you buy a car for that kind of money, gas mileage is the least of your worries.
  • Leonid, Novorossiysk. First I bought a BMW X6 in 2010 with a 4.4 liter engine. After a year and a half, I realized that it hits my pocket - not only is the service expensive, but the consumption in the city comes out at least 20 liters - a specific relief after all. But I really like the car, so I changed it to the same one, but with a three-liter diesel engine - that's it.

BMW X6 diesel

In the diesel version, the BMW X6 is offered with three variants of 3.0-liter diesel engines, which are aggregated with a 6-band automatic. The “weakest” turbocharged engine develops 245 hp, and its biturbo version is already 306 hp. For lovers of drive, a charged version of the X6M 5.0d is offered, on which a tri-turbo 385-horsepower engine is installed, developing a torque of 720 Nm.

Real reviews of fuel consumption per 100 km BMW X6 diesel

  • Alexander, St. Petersburg. I read a lot that now they are complaining, saying that the quality of the BMW is no longer the same, the car breaks down a lot and the like. I bought my X6 one of the first, in 2008 - NEVER there was a single serious breakdown. Of the works - only regular maintenance according to the book, nothing more. The average consumption - 8.5 liters per hundred - is more than excellent for such a motor.
  • Alexey, Kostroma. Nice car with 50,000 miles on it. BUT! The Kaliningrad assembly is a quiet horror, the Germans are turning over in their graves. After about 40 thousand, it starts to crumble - at first on trifles, but I feel that serious problems will begin soon, so I want to sell it soon. The only thing I like is a very reliable and torquey diesel engine, on which you can dial a hundred in 6 seconds. On the highway, the consumption is not more than 7 liters, in the city - up to 10.
  • Sergey, Simferopol. Great car for city and highway. The fact that it is positioned as a crossover, do not be fooled - the suspension is not designed for a bad road, it shakes like in a Gazelka. Although diesel and automatic behave perfectly on mountain roads - traction on the bottoms is excellent, no failures. Before that, there was Prado, and so he lacked dynamics on the slopes. In the mountains, if you drive under 10 liters, even on the highway, but on flat terrain - no more than liters. In the city, too, a dozen, sometimes even 11 liters.
  • Anna, Moscow. Husband bought X6, and X5 for himself. So, I like the "six" more - it's faster somehow or something. The dealer was immediately warned about the fuel - I fill only good diesel fuel so as not to kill the fuel equipment. Consumption in the city does not exceed 11-12 liters (this is due to traffic jams), outside the city in the region of 8 liters.
  • Edward, St. Petersburg. A car of dubious quality for the money. The consumption is not bad - in the “highway + city” mode, an average of 8 liters comes out on the computer - this, in my opinion, is the only advantage. For such a heavy machine, 250 hp. not enough, especially felt in the city. Three months later, the machine was covered, stood in the repair for a couple of months. There are crickets and squeaks in the cabin, nothing supernatural in the decoration.
  • Artem, Kyiv. More than happy with the car. Speed, comfort, handling - all you need. Very economical - consumption up to 9 liters in the city (engine 3.0, 245 hp).

BMWX6 can hardly be called an SUV, since all-wheel drive is just a formality here. The BMWX6 was first introduced in 2008 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

When the X6 appeared, the world saw a new class of car that combines a crossover and a coupe. Managers and engineers of the manufacturer said that they called this style Sports Activity Coupe. Its front end has a fairly decent width, an aggressive design and a style that leaves no doubt about the sprint performance. As on the X5 - the radiator grill is located on the hood, it is not even placed horizontally, but a little back. As is customary in large X-series cars, there is a "black hole" in the center - an air intake that cools the radiator. There are also wide air outlets under the headlights.

When looking at the profile of the BMW X6, all doubts immediately flutter that this style is somehow connected with the coupe. Embossed sides, a long hood, a strongly falling roof line, massive wheel arches under which there are huge wheels with a diameter of 21 inches. The C-pillar is quite wide, has a reverse angle of obstruction - in accordance with the traditions of the brand, and there is a small spoiler on the rear door.

Beauty, comfort and ergonomics reign inside the car. The panel resembles the X5, but in fact, it has its own design and a different arrangement of controls.

The front seats are firm enough to hold their passengers well on straight roads and tight corners thanks to the "Twill" leather - and on slopes.

even from the outside it is clear that it will be a little problematic for adults to fit in the back seat, but even three children will feel great there, and they will be able to stretch their legs. luggage compartment bmwX6 has a volume of 569 liters, and if you fold the rear seats, it will increase to 1350 liters.

The car, as expected, has become an improved version of the X5, it is more adaptable to road conditions, but not off-road. The wheels are 2 inches larger, but the ground clearance is 5 cm less. It also uses the same all-wheel drive as the BMWX5, but with a slightly different suspension design.

The gearbox is a six-speed automatic, it has shift paddles on the steering wheel. The power of the gasoline engine is 406 horsepower, it will accelerate to a hundred in 5.4 seconds. Fuel consumption is an average of 12.5 liters per 100 kilometers.

As a result, we can say that not a single competitor in the world, even German, has been able to provide a competitor bmw X 6 , which could also combine the sportiness of a coupe, the off-road capability of a crossover and the practicality of a station wagon.

Four years ago, my father bought a BMW X6, in a white body. Diesel engine, 235 horsepower, black interior. For the car they gave three and a half lyama. The cost is high due to additional equipment. All sorts of goodies. So add-ons cost a lot! Moreover, you have to overpay for the brand (for its popularity). In winter, it starts the first time. A consumption shocked me at all (in a good way)! A maximum of 14 liters in the winter in the city, and even with traffic jams. Engine operation - no words! Everything is fine! Up to a hundred in 6 seconds breaks off. Verified personally. Everything in the car is good! In addition to the suspension, it is harsh, but this is logical. But what handling! The car is just a feast for the eyes! Everyone pays attention to her, everyone without exception! I liked to ride it, because all the girls looked at me and the car! 

Before X6, I had four behi - 7,5,3, and X5. I think X6 is the best among them. The car is more comfortable, tougher, and therefore better handling. I have had the car for three years now. A car for a three (and a half!) Liter engine is very economical. The usual consumption with traffic jams in the city is 17-18 liters. Well, in winter it rises to 20 liters. The name of the car is fully consistent with its characteristics. I really like the dynamics of the car! I rejoice in it every time I sit behind the wheel of a car. Suspension perfectly eats holes! Auto is more for spiritual happiness than for movement. Well done Bavarians! Great car! By the way, this car is not for those who are going to transport something like furniture or stoves on it!

I've been looking at the BMW X6 for a long time. Before deciding to buy, I shoveled a bunch of reviews, characteristics, etc. In general, the choice was considered and reasoned. The main requirements for a car when buying: - necessarily diesel, - black body, - interior - leather, beige, - well, always in the maximum configuration. And yet, I completely forgot, I was looking for a car no earlier than 2009 years, so what if only one owner before me. Despite my intricate requirements for the car, I still managed to review more than 5 cars on the first day, I don’t remember exactly 6 or 7 anymore. I drive a car every day. I really like everyday operation. Everything works, there are no problems. Consumption is about 15 liters, but this is in sport mode. I do not like only the trunk, it is a little cramped. I have already passed the first ten thousand km. Departed them normally, without breakages.

Greetings to all readers! I have an X6, year of manufacture - 2008. The car, in my opinion, is rather problematic. Or, it just happened to me. Here, for example, the last time: liquid flowed from the power steering. Runs through the expansion tank, through the cap. I went to the dealership, went to conjure, conjured, but the reason was never revealed. As a result, they advised me to replace the tank .. well, I changed it, and what's the point! It still flows. A useless waste of money! Well, and a bunch of little things are gaining: - the brakes creak. - replacing the fuel pump, - replacing the rear struts, - almost the entire front suspension has been replaced, - nozzles. In short, in short, it turns out - they climbed everywhere except the box. But the car is still under warranty!

In general, I will not paint how I came to buy a BMW X6, I can only say that a year ago, in early November, I bought this car. 286 horses, black, complete set. I bought a car in the salon in St. Petersburg. I immediately replaced the tires with winter ones. Prochipoval up to 300 kopecks. Having driven the winter period of time, I realized that apart from the dynamics, handling and appearance, I don’t like anything else in the car. For a little over a year I have driven almost forty thousand km. the total mileage was already 120,000 km. I changed: - two nozzles, rear levers, - a fuel pump, - brake pads, brake discs, and of course oil.

I will say right away that the review reflects my subjective opinion, which I do not impose on anyone. A good car. Very modern, beautiful leather in the cabin, excellent handling, road behavior is excellent. There are sometimes problems with parking due to the dimensions of the car, well, you get used to it. But this disadvantage is compensated by a good roomy trunk. Delight overflows from the luxury cabin. The metal of the body is light, but quite durable. Positive aspects: good handling, the gearbox does not dull. Cons: cost, not getting to the motor during repairs.

BMW X6 M owner reviews

  • Mikhail, Tomsk. I have owned this sports crossover since 2009. A car with a turbo engine produces 555 horsepower, reaches the first hundred in 5 seconds. The maximum speed is unfortunately limited to 250 km / h, but what acceleration! Already the back is pressed into the chair. Excellent lateral support, advanced equipment and comfortable interior. I also praise the crossover for its good cross-country ability by the standards of a sports SUV. Despite the stiff suspension, the car rides more or less smoothly over rough terrain. Fuel consumption reaches 20 liters per 100 km.
  • Vitaly, Yaroslavl. I have a BMW X6M from 2016, a second generation car with a top 4.4 liter engine. The engine produces 575 horses and consumes no more than 15 liters in the city. On the track, I fit into 8-9 liters at all, so there are no problems with expenses.
  • Sergei, Moscow. I have been the owner of a BMW X6 M since 2009, a car with a brutal black body. The top 4.4 liter engine is very voracious and noisy, but very powerful. Acceleration to 100 km / h in 5 seconds, top speed in the region of 260 km / h. The car has never broken down in a big way, all repair procedures are planned, carried out in a service center for big money. But on the highway, the car eats no more than 10 liters.
  • Boris, Kirovsk. I drove 125 thousand km on the BMW X6M, the car has been in operation since 2010, with a 4.4-liter gasoline engine for 555 horses. The engine consumes no more than 20 liters, in my opinion this is the most reasonable limit for such a motor. With such hellish dynamics, you can pacify any passenger car, what can I say about competing crossovers. In the extra-urban cycle, fuel consumption is 11 liters. Inside it is spacious in all dimensions, including rear passengers. Handling is more responsive and snappy than the regular X6.
  • Maxim, Sverdlovsk. This machine is surprisingly well adapted to Russian climatic conditions. A car with a 4.4 liter engine, 575 horsepower, automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The machine instantly shifts gears and fully reveals the potential of the engine, boosted to 575 horsepower. The fuel consumption of the second generation X6M is 14 liters in the urban cycle.
  • Vasily, Nizhny Novgorod region. In 2017, I became the owner of the most flagship BMW X6. The second generation car, with a 4.4-liter gasoline engine with 575 horsepower. The car reaches 100 km / h in less than 4.5 seconds, and therefore endowed with hurricane dynamics. Fuel consumption is 15 liters in the city, which is 5 liters less than its predecessor. On the track it turns out 10 liters.
  • Oleg, Krasnodar Territory. I liked the car, despite the high service costs, including fuel. Version with a 4.4-liter engine, automatic and all-wheel drive. I bought a car in 2017 - this is the first generation, a 2011 model, with an elegant red body. This monster eats in the city in the region of 20 liters per hundred, and on the highway I fit in 10-12 liters, depending on the driving style.
