10 friendliest dog breeds

1. Newfoundland

He's a diver. An extremely friendly pet that gets along well not only with children, but also with other pets, including small dogs and cats.

For whom. Newfoundland will be an ideal nanny for a baby: it will endure all bullying and will not leave the baby in danger.

Peculiarities. This is a large dog that needs a lot of space to live. Also, the "diver" requires constant physical activity - he will have to walk a lot with him. Easily trained, very homesick for family members, sensitive and does not tolerate abuse and punishment. Loves to travel and swim. The giant's thick coat must be carefully looked after - combed out at least 4 times a week.

2. Saint Bernard

A breed known throughout the world as a rescue dog. The owner of a calm and balanced character, the St. Bernard is devoted to the owners and is able to protect them from any trouble.

For whom. The slowness of this giant makes him not the most desirable friend for an active child. But the St. Bernard will perfectly cope with the role of the guard of the little one: dogs of this breed are perfectly oriented in space and can almost always find their way home.

Peculiarities. The St. Bernard, like the Newfoundland, requires long walks and serious physical activity for health. The coat of the dog also requires specific care. As for the character, these are very vulnerable and sensitive pets that are strongly attached to a person. St. Bernards tend to become depressed if they are not given enough attention or leave home for a long time.

3. Basset Hound

Bassets fully justify the invariably phlegmatic expression of their muzzle: they are slow and stubborn, but extremely friendly and good-natured.

For whom. Dogs of this breed are extremely difficult to train: even to teach a basset to ask to go outside, you need to make some effort. But they can become excellent companions in outdoor games. Born hounds and excellent sniffers, they love to look for all kinds of tracks. A good option for a student who enjoys hiking.

Peculiarities. Basset hair does not have to be especially looked after, but nutrition must be monitored. Representatives of this breed love to eat and are prone to obesity. It is also worth remembering that because of the short legs and long spine, it is not recommended for the basset to often climb stairs and even more so jump.

4. Beagle

A cheerful and sociable four-legged friend gets along well with people of all ages and other dogs, but cats and other small animals can start hunting.

For whom. The Beagle is a great option for a mobile and active baby. Dogs of this breed can play and frolic from morning to night. Outdoors, they love to dig the ground and follow the trail, which can come in handy in games. But babies with a beagle jumping around are unlikely to be interested.

Peculiarities. Caring for a beagle is not at all difficult: it has short hair, which practically does not smell. The main point to think about is that beagles bark very often and very loudly. In a country house, such behavior is unlikely to be annoying, but in a city apartment it can cause conflicts with family and neighbors. Also, these pets should not be left alone for a long time: they become nervous and spend their energy on pranks.

5 Cocker Spaniel

Both American and English Cockers are gentle and cheerful dogs that love babies and get along easily with other pets.

For whom. Cockers are easy to train and love to play on walks - this is sure to please an older preschooler or schoolchild. Because spaniels are hunting dogs, they enjoy sniffing, trailing, and running fast. And thanks to their light weight and long legs, cockers can follow their little owner anywhere: jump over a low fence, climb a hill and run up the stairs.

Peculiarities. Spaniels are prone to diseases of the eyes and ears, so they need to be looked after very carefully. They are often allergic and prone to obesity, so you have to take care of the right diet. In addition, the dog's long, wavy coat needs to be combed and trimmed as often as possible.

6. Pug

These small stocky dogs are very friendly and patient, require a lot of attention and become very attached to humans.

For whom. A pug is a good friend for a preschooler. He is ready to play (but not too long) and is easy to train. And thanks to its small size, the dog will be a great companion on any journey (from a bike ride to a long trip).

Peculiarities. Despite the short coat, pugs shed a lot, so this breed is not suitable for allergy sufferers. The folds on the dog's face need to be constantly processed and cleaned, which also adds to the hassle. And little tricksters prefer to sleep in bed with the owner and snore a little in their sleep.

7 Golden Retriever

Due to their calm and sociable nature, as well as their high intelligence, these beautiful dogs often play the role of guides, therapists and helpers for people with disabilities, and are filmed in films. They love people very much and are ready to make friends with everyone.

For whom. A guard will not come out of a golden retriever: dogs of this breed wag their tail in a friendly manner even to strangers. But it is very pleasant to play with them, because retrievers love to catch and bring sticks, balls, plates. They are also hardy runners and swimmers, so an active and athletic student will be an ideal owner for a retriever.

Peculiarities. The Golden Retriever needs constant physical and mental stress - a pet of this breed must be given a lot of time.

8. Bichon Frize

These little curly dogs resemble cute sheep, not only in appearance, but also in character: they are gentle and moderately active, get along well with other pets and are polite with strangers.

For whom. Bichon does not require special physical activity, so long walks are not for him. A dog of this breed will appeal to a homebody child, especially a schoolgirl. Although, unlike other small dogs, the Bichon Frize is able to find a common language with the baby.

Peculiarities. The only disadvantage of the breed is the constant and rather complicated care for curly hair.

9 Irish Setter

Active and sociable dogs, in which there is not a single gram of aggression. The Setter will make friends not only with all family members, including the smallest ones, but also with pets.

For whom. Frankly speaking, the Irish Setter is not an apartment dog. The space limited by four walls makes representatives of this breed bored. It is better if the setter has a territory where you can run around a lot, or at least the opportunity to walk outside once a day for several hours. Therefore, an Irishman should be chosen as a friend for an active preschooler or schoolchild who is difficult to drag home.

Peculiarities. It is easy to care for the setter: comb it several times a week, bathe only when necessary. Dogs of this breed are prone to allergies, so watch their diet. And you should not let a pet off the leash that has not yet been trained to be near the owner: a dog's excellent scent can take it very far from home.

10 Labrador Retriever

Perhaps one of the most attractive breeds for children. It is difficult to find a child who would not dream of a Labrador puppy. And all because they are funny, smart and very sociable.

For whom. Labradors love walks and active games, and the first three years of life behave like puppies, so the best friend of such a dog will be a schoolboy who can teach her commands and restrain her violent emotions. Although Labradors are not at all aggressive, they can knock down a child if they play, so this is not the best option for a family with a baby.

Peculiarities. Labrador Retrievers require moderate grooming, great physical activity and constant training.
