Lighting is ahead. Light show - ahead Portals and forest extravaganza

The Circle of Light Festival is underway, during which the architectural space of the city will be transformed by the hands of lighting designers and professionals in the field of 2D and 3D graphics.

Facades of iconic buildings will be transformed into something extraordinary, will be painted with bright colors of the light show and show completely different and unimaginable landscapes and stories.

The festival originates from the city of Lyon in France at the end of the 17th century, and later finds popularity throughout Europe.

In 2002, Anton Chukaev (a Moscow artist) sent an application to the Moscow Committee for Culture to hold such an event, but only after 9 years did the debut of the festival take place, which was recognized and received annual status.

Every year Moscow hosts a unique audio-visual show called Circle of Light. During the days of this international festival, the architectural monuments of the capital of Russia are transformed with the help of large-scale video projections. The art of light installations in the hands of experienced craftsmen creates unforgettable multimedia compositions. The streets are illuminated by light beams, multi-colored lasers and colorful fireworks before the eyes of admiring spectators.

The best part is that you can get vivid emotions and impressions at the Circle of Light festival completely free of charge, since entrance to all venues and events does not require payment and presentation of a ticket. In addition to the show, the program includes educational workshops and informative performances by world-famous lighting designers. Entrance to the lectures is also free, but everyone who wants to attend must first register on the official website of the organizers.

This grandiose light show began to be held in 2011. We must pay tribute to the masters - every year the visual effects become more and more perfect and impressive, the number of programs increases several times, and the venues, it seems, will soon cover the whole of Moscow. As a result, the emotions of the festival guests are becoming more intense, which is clearly seen in the numerous videos, photos and enthusiastic comments on the Web.

Good progress was noticeable last year: the scale of light performances increased to an incredible size, laser performances were supplemented with new effects, for example, pyrotechnics and special effects with fire and water, and building facades were decorated with very realistic and voluminous projections.

Peppercorns to the Circle of Light festival are added by the fact that light installation specialists not only demonstrate their talents, but also compete with each other within the framework of competitive programs. Eminent professional designers, who are members of the jury, carefully monitor that the title of the best in three categories - Classic, Modern and VJing - really goes to the most worthy and skillful candidates.

Teams from thirty countries will take part in the current festival, which means that the show will be very diverse and eventful. After the official opening on September 21, seven locations of the Circle of Light 2018 festival will operate daily until September 25. The organizers assume that during this time the number of guests of the event will reach five million people.

The solemn part of the opening of the festival will begin on the evening of September 21 at 20:30 with the multi-media show "Carnival of Light", which will be held on the Rowing Canal. Laser and light beams will be complemented by "dances" of 285 fountains and 170 pillars of fire.

An exciting film about the world of the distant future can be watched at the Tsaritsyno site. The story of the legendary character, the Phoenix bird, will also be shown there. Thanks to the colorful interweaving of light streams, viewers will be able to see such famous historical monuments as the Taj Mahal and Big Ben. On September 24, against the backdrop of beautiful video projections, Dmitry Malikov will perform. The concert will take place on the stage near the palace.

Theater Square at the Circle of Light festival will be decorated with a panoramic three-dimensional composition, where the guests of the festival will see an exciting novel about the heroism and love of Spartacus.

For the first time in the history of the event, the site will also be organized on Poklonnaya Hill. Light stories here will be accompanied by military songs and will tell about the heroic events of past years, the great Russian inventors, as well as the equipment and technologies of the Russian army. After that, the guests of the festival will be able to go on a virtual flight over the picturesque regions of the Russian Federation.

A laser show for children will be held at the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. Here, on the facades of buildings, beloved fairy-tale characters will come to life, and the world created with the help of lighting effects will amaze viewers of all ages with its originality and magical atmosphere.

The closing of the festival is scheduled for September 25, and it will take place in the same place where the "Circle of Light-2018" began - on the Rowing Canal. Time of the final event: from 21:30 to 22:15.

You can learn more about all the programs and venues, the date and time of various events, view the photo gallery and get more information about the educational program on the official website of the international festival "Circle of Light" at the link

Moscow International Festival "Circle of Light" will be held this year for the seventh time, it will be held from 23 to 27 September. The organizers promise to make it the most spectacular event of the fall. The city will again turn into a center of attraction for the world for several days: entire video performances will unfold on its most beautiful buildings, and fabulous installations will illuminate the streets. At all six venues, Muscovites and guests of the capital are in for a lot of surprises, and this year the festival will also touch upon new addresses.

The Ostankino Ponds area, Tsaritsyno Park, Theater Square, Stroginskaya floodplain, as well as the Mir theater and concert hall and the Digital October center will become the main auditoriums of the festival. Correspondents of "RG" found out all the details.

The show will open in Ostankino, in honor of the half-century anniversary of the tower. The hero of the day will "try on" different images of famous skyscrapers. Every minute the tower will turn either into the Parisian Eiffel Tower, or into the New York 103-story Empire State Building, or into the Japanese Landmark Tower... Viewers will also be able to see the skyscrapers of Canada, the United Arab Emirates, China, Australia ... The image will cover the entire diameter of the tower, so that the show will be visible from afar.

Those who are nearby will be able to see an extraordinary multimedia light show right on the Ostankino pond. Spectators will be transported to the fabulous Lavender fields, to the foot of Niagara Falls, to the heart of Yellowstone Park and the Bamboo Flute Cave, to experience the heat of the Sahara desert or the refreshing breeze of the Great Barrier Reef. Guests of the festival will witness the bewitching power of Fujiyama volcano, the immense depth of Lake Baikal, the boundless beauties of the Ural Mountains and the captivating charm of Sakhalin Island. An exciting spectacle here will be the choreography of fountains and fire, as well as a pyrotechnic performance.

And a special platform for an ice show will be installed on the pond, which will be shown by figure skaters.

Given the growing popularity of the Circle of Light, new objects have joined the festival this year. The debutant of the festival will be the Maly Theatre, the facade of which will be united by the plot with the Bolshoi Theatre. "One story will smoothly move from one building to another," says Vladimir Demekhin, creative director of the LBL Communications Group. Two light shows will be shown here: "Celestial Mechanics" - about loneliness and love, and "Timeless" - plots based on the works of Russian playwrights. Demekhin recalls that the Maly Theater carefully preserves the traditions of Russian theatrical art, therefore, from its facade, Alexander Nikolayevich Ostrovsky himself, as a symbol and soul of the theater, will invite the audience on a journey through time. “At once on two facades, unique scenery created according to historical sketches will grow, scenes from cult performances will unfold, and their authors will not miss the opportunity to present their work, talk to each other and even joke,” continues Demekhin.

The finale of the festival will be a grandiose fireworks show - the first 30-minute show of Japanese pyrotechnics in Russia. A photo: RIA News

In addition, the theaters will traditionally show the works of the finalists of the international competition ART VISION Classic. Participants from all over the world will demonstrate to the audience new works of light art at the Bolshoi Theater in the "Classic" nomination and at the Maly Theater in the "Modern" nomination.

This palace and park ensemble in the south of Moscow will turn into a light stage during the festival. An audiovisual performance "Palace of Senses" will be shown on the building of the Great Catherine Palace, and a bewitching light and music show of fountains will be held on the Tsaritsynsky Pond. Dozens of fountains will come to life to the music of works by Russian composers, making the audience members of a large water orchestra. During all days of the festival, the park will be decorated with amazing installations from the world's leading lighting designers, and performances by famous musicians will take place right there. In particular, Mikhail Turetsky's art group SOPRANO will perform on September 24, and on the remaining days, the unique vocals of the female group will sound in the recording, accompanying video projections on the facade of the palace. On September 25, People's Artist of Russia Dmitry Malikov will give a concert in the park.

Mir Theater and Concert Hall and Digital October Center

Festival events will also be held at two indoor venues. On September 24 at 20.00 in the theater and concert hall "Mir" the audience will witness a competitive battle of the best light and music artists in the direction of vijing: teams from different countries will compete in the skill of creating light images to music. And those who are interested in how exactly this is done, on September 23 and 24 from 12.00 to 18.00 in the Digital October center, will be able to listen to free lectures by light designers and creators of laser installations.

One of the surprises awaits Muscovites and guests at the end of the festival. For the first time in Russia, a 30-minute Japanese firework will be presented, which almost never travels the world. To do this, on September 27, barges with pyrotechnic installations will be installed on the water in the Stroginskaya floodplain. Japanese charges differ from the usual ones in size - they are much larger, and each shot is made by specialists manually, due to which the pattern is individual. Light paintings will open at a height of 500 meters, and the diameter of the light domes will be 240 meters.

Specifically

The Circle of Light international festival has been held in Moscow since 2011, and every year more and more guests come to see it: if in 2011 there were 200 thousand people, then in 2016 - already 6 million. There are also more and more performances, and their level is ever higher: last year, on the facade of the main building of Moscow State University. M. Lomonosov, in particular, two new shows were presented, which have no analogues in the world in terms of scale and technical complexity. The Moscow International Festival "Circle of Light" has set records and is already listed in the Guinness Book of Records in two categories: "The largest video projection" (50,458 sq. m.) and "The largest light output when projecting an image" (4,264,346 lumens).

By the way

As always, it will be free to come and enjoy the performances - admission to all festival venues is free. Details can be found on the site lightfest.ru.
