Essay based on Rylov’s painting Flowery Meadow (description).

// Essay-description based on the painting by A.A. Rylova " flowery meadow»

I really like to look at and peer at paintings depicting beautiful landscapes that convey all the beauty of our lands. One of these paintings is the work of Arkady Rylov “Flower Meadow”.

The creative works of this recognized artist are largely dedicated to the gorgeous landscapes that stretch across all the expanses of Russia. Looking at the picture, we see a wide and spacious meadow, which has collected many white, fragrant flowers on its lawn. They scattered randomly across the clearing.

Watching such beauty, you really want, at least for a few moments, to be transported there, to Fresh air, away from our stuffy and noisy city. If only I had the opportunity to go to such a green meadow. I would be able to walk along invisible paths, inhale the sweet aroma of planted porridge and in an instant fall onto the green and lush grass. In such an environment and beauty, thoughts go away. You can just lie there, peer into the insanely blue sky and watch the quickly floating fluffy clouds. Where are they going? Where are they heading? Nobody knows this.

Looking at the painting “Flower Meadow”, our attention is drawn to several groups of trees. In the foreground you can see two small plantings of majestic plants, which have gathered in friendly groups and seem to be discussing some events. The trees grow so close to each other that some branches have already grown together. Now, these plants are inseparable.

In the background you can see a dense forest, which consists of different trees. They are tall and not very tall, among them there are old giants and young couples. Everything in this forest is harmonious, because it was created by Mother Nature herself. And all this majestic beauty is brightly illuminated by the warm rays of the sun, which fill every leaf, every flower and twig. vitality and energy.

How wonderful it is to observe such wonders of nature. Looking at her beauty, you want to admire and be surprised by everything you see even more and more.

A famous landscape painter is Arkady Rylov. His muse was nature, so different and unexpected. You don't need to travel long distances to find inspiration. It's enough to get out of town. Nature provides millions of ideas for painting. But you need to be able to find something special, to look at the world in a new way.

Features and history of creation

Rylov knew how to work with color. He managed to convey the shades correctly. But he paid little attention to details and unimportant tones. The main thing for the artist was to correctly convey the play of light and shadow.

The painting “Flower Meadow” made the artist famous. At first glance, this is an ordinary landscape that can be observed in any area in middle lane. But the canvas charges with positivity, creates a holiday, adds brightness to gray everyday life. At the time of the creation of the picture, the war was in full swing. It is strange that it was during these times that the author created such an optimistic work. For Rylov, nature was not only a source of inspiration, but also motivation and support.

Canvas concept

In the picture you can see a green meadow. It is completely flooded with sun. The grass is diluted with densely arranged white flowers. The work looks so dynamic that you want to get into the picture. Gently step your bare feet onto the soft grass. The artist uses many shades of green. Darker tones create shadows.

Further on you can see a small birch grove. visible in the distance big forest. Probably these trees also relate to planting. Although the trunks are not visible, there is confidence that there are birch trees there, in the distance.

The author plays with lighting on the canvas. The meadow is in the shade while the background is bathed in sunlight. The shadow is long enough. We can conclude that sunset will begin soon. It could also be early morning; soon the sun will rise and illuminate the meadow well.

The sky is clear. Several blue and pink clouds can be seen. Red shades indicate sunset or dawn. Only then can bright lighting and large shadows be observed.

In the painting “Flowy Meadow” there is a sense of summer celebration. The subtleties of the play of light and the palette of colors managed to make the canvas one of the best in Russian painting.

Arkady Rylov is a Russian artist who gained fame and recognition thanks to his landscapes. He looked for inspiration among places that were painfully familiar and dear to his heart. The artist did not have to go somewhere far from the capital to find interesting stories for future work. It was enough to leave the capital for a day, and hundreds of ideas immediately appeared in your mind.

The main feature of Rylov, which made him an extraordinary creator, once again lies in his unsurpassed ability to find beauty in the ordinary, to see elegance and novelty in what others daily look away from.

In 1916, he created a landscape that literally sank into the soul of the audience. This is the canvas “Flower Meadow”, which depicts a typical summer day in the forest in central Russia. What is rather surprising here is the moment at which the artist wanted to turn to a calm, life-affirming landscape: already two many years Human blood was shed in the battles of the First World War, a revolutionary upheaval was brewing in Russia.

Passions were in full swing, and Rylov created a joyful landscape depicting the beauty of nature. But, according to the artist, it is native nature that is the source of peace, quiet joy and happiness for any person, no matter what hardships befall the country at this moment.

In the foreground is a bright green meadow with many white small flowers. The grass is painted so naturally that it seems that you can step over the frame of the picture and find yourself right in this meadow. Rylov used various shades green, which allows you to highlight almost every blade of grass, making it perceptible even to a quick glance.

The middle plan of the picture is given to a small birch grove. The background presents us with barely visible tree trunks of a dense, huge forest. Judging by the white spots, these are also birch trees.

The artist’s work with light deserves special attention in this picture. The canvas shows the trees in the center of the picture and even the forest in the distance perfectly illuminated, while a giant shadow falls on the meadow. Most likely, it comes from the artist’s easel. The shadow is elongated, which means the sun is approaching the ground, that is, the day is nearing the end. This is an evening landscape. Although it is possible that the artist, on the contrary, began working at the beginning of dawn. After all, the rising sun also gives a somewhat extended shadow.

Creamy and pinkish clouds move across the blue sky: this heavenly illumination also hints that the viewer, thanks to the artist’s skill, has witnessed the birth of a day or, on the contrary, its fading.
This work allows those looking at it to relax mentally, makes them break away from everyday problems, switches them from daily worries and seemingly insoluble difficulties to admiring the beauty of the world. She calls for preserving the purity and unsurpassedness of Russian nature, not destroying it with senseless wars and other clashes.

In the summer, everyone gets tired of the stuffiness of the city - and just wants to plunge into the colorful herbs and wildflowers. Many people strive to escape into space, which is so often lacking within the walls of a stuffy concrete jungle. If you were unable to enjoy the beauty of a summer day, Rylov’s wonderful painting “Flower Meadow” will help you with this.
Most The paintings are occupied by meadow grasses, among which wildflowers hide comfortably. In some places there are timid crowds of trees that resemble girls gathered together. Of course, the trees do not object to such a pleasant neighborhood, but they do not stop chatting among themselves.
The artist chose for this canvas only light colors, which give the whole image purity and serenity. On such days it seems that summer will never end, and happiness will last forever in life. Even the sky above the meadow was clear and cloudless. It takes you further away from reality, throwing you into a fantasy world where everything is fine and troubles never happen.
This picture allows us to relax our souls, break away from everyday life, and switches us to the beauty of nature. The fact is that a person often does not notice what surrounds him. The picture allowed me to feel all the charm of a summer day and helped me relax in the open air.
