How to maintain order in the house after the birth of a child?
They say that of the three aspects - a small child, the mental balance of the parents and order in the house - only two are possible at the same time. And, if there are children in the house, you don’t have to try to make your apartment perfectly tidy.
Still, we will tell you some simple rules that will help you maintain at least partial order in your home.
Every thing has its place
According to experienced mothers, with a baby who crawls, throws toys around and interferes with cleaning in every possible way, you need to have a special approach to maintaining order. The main rules are:
- Things lying on the floor should not block the passage from one room to another.
- Scattered toys and other items should not interfere with cleaning.
- Even if things are lying on the floor, you need to know where exactly they are.
Simply put, when every item in the house has its own place, it becomes easier to maintain order. If the doll is always placed in the same place, the baby will probably not take it far, but will throw it nearby. Even if everything ends up on the floor, continue to always put children’s toys in one place, the TV remote in another, and your creams in a third.
Get rid of excess
If you want to clean less, just don't bring anything extra home. Inspect the scattered things - it is quite possible that you do not need half of them at all. You will probably find a comb that you haven’t used for a long time, a tube of cream that has already expired. By the way, does a child need so many dolls or cars?
- Collect and throw away anything you find unnecessary.
- Go through your things and give out to your friends what you haven’t used for more than six months.
- Don't give in to nostalgia and materialism. Yes, your baby slept with that teddy bear in the first weeks of his life, but does he play with it now or are you just cherishing your memories? Here is the dress you wore to celebrate your graduation - is it dear to you as a memory? Urgently get rid of the attributes of the past, otherwise you will get stuck in your memories and chaos, like in a swamp! If you want to keep things as a keepsake, just take a photo of them.
- Feel free to get rid of half of all children's toys: leave one part in its place, the other - put it in bags or boxes and send it to the balcony. After a month, give the baby what was on the balcony, and take what was in the house to the balcony. The baby will play with the returned toys as if they were new, and you will have to clean up less.
Neutralize hot spots
Housewives call “hot spots” places in the apartment in which various things accumulate. The child also has a lot of such “hot spots”, and all because of two reasons: things do not have their own places, or the baby loves to play here, but the place for play is not organized.
Moms take note!
Hello girls) I didn’t think that the problem of stretch marks would affect me, but I’ll write about it))) But I have nowhere to go, so I’m writing here: How did I get rid of stretch marks after childbirth? I will be very glad if my method helps you too ...
To solve this problem, you need to organize a space for your child to play. Remove unnecessary things - find a place for them, and throw away everything unnecessary or turn it into toys. For example, empty unbreakable jars can be turned into rattles by pouring cereal into them.
Place several boxes with toys and items that are safe for the baby in different corners - preferably in “hot spots”. Walking around the house, the baby will notice these boxes, take out objects from them and play with them, paying less attention to other things. This will make cleaning easier for mom, because putting scattered cars into boxes is not at all difficult.
Connect modern assistants
To ensure that every item is in its place or at least next to it, use modern means to maintain order and cleanliness. There are a lot of them now. In an apartment with a child, plastic containers are useful in which you can put away various little things like parts from construction sets. Plastic chests of drawers are convenient for storing bullets for toy guns, and in a drawer under the bed you can create an “apartment” for dolls with their clothes and furniture. It is better to lock small items rather than leave them on open shelves where they are accessible to toddlers.
Hanging shelves are also convenient in the household: you can hide any toys there, as well as rugs-bags that are laid out on the floor for play, and then pulled into a bag with one movement - and everything that was on them instantly ends up inside.
Make a cleaning schedule
Do not strive to ensure that your home is always in perfect order - this will only waste your nerves. Even if you set up several play areas for your child, put things back in their places, get rid of unnecessary things, you will not achieve round-the-clock cleanliness. It will become easier for you to maintain order, but you shouldn’t get hung up on it, constantly reining in your household, ruining everyone’s mood. Try to let go of the situation, let your baby play quietly, and make a cleaning schedule yourself and carry it out according to a schedule - for example, during the baby’s nap and late in the evening.
